why is California so anti gun?

It just doesn't make much sense to me. Especially when you consider Los Angeles is the epicenter for promoting gun culture via the entertainment industry. On 85% of movie posters is a star with a gun. Plus California is borded by pro gun states. Can someone explain logic? I'm not trying to bash Californians and I understand not everyone adopts same political views. Obviously the majority do however which I find strange.

California is NOT at all anti gun. its totally PRO gun ownership for the ruling elite and politically influential. The government and authorities are totally pro THEM having guns of all kinds but not for the general public because they being Socialists and Liberals know what is best for ordinary people and they know the ordinary people should not have guns and should trust the police and state to protect them. just like North Korea, East Germany, Albania, UK, etc

Actually when you think about it CA is politically and culturally more similar to the UK and our festering left leaning society than it is to the rest of the US.

That may be true over in County Durham, but here in the Potteries it's more like Kentucky.

The only thing wrong with California is Californians. They stated in the 50's electing politician's who promised them things for nothing, and the voters were to stupid to realize that there were strings attached. People from all over the US, Mexico and Asia flooded in to California to get on the government gravy train.
