The flashlight is a mini maglight, the lighter is exactly like a minature Zippo, but round and with a gasket and screw top so the fluid doesn't evaporate. It uses the same wick and flints as a Zippo.

I carry a Victorinox swiss army knife with all the doodads, a cheap folding tactical knife that has a ferroceramic sparking flint, seatbelt cutter, car window smasher, and tiny backup flashlight.

My gun is a stainless Walther PPK/S .380 (that needed a lot of repair work) that rides in a nylon ankle holster that fits over my boots. I keep it loaded with Golden Saber hollow points, and I carry one spare magazine.

My boots and shoes are almost always laced with paracord, so I got cordage covered.

Nice handgun. I carry a Taurus tcp 308 due to its size and low cost. It easily fits in my front pocket and if it gets scratched by anything else I put in there I don’t really mind too much. I think an everyday carry is going to catch some abuse so I don’t recommend anything too expensive. Multi tool is always a must, and since Mine has two knives I don’t carry another. Trying to keep weight down, and started wearing suspenders recently to help! I also keep a couple hundred in twenty dollar bills folded and hidden in my wallet in case the card readers ever go down. A little cash is always a good thing. I like the flashlight idea, but have lost about three of the damned things so far. (Think the son likes em too.....). I’ve gotten used to the light on my phone now, but may get another for backup. Glad you reminded me of the extra clip, been meaning to get one when out one day.

Glad you finally got that gun working.

Thank you. I am, too.

I got into a very acrimonious pissing contest with the piece of s--- who sold me the gun.

He suggested that I unload it (no pun intended) at a gun show, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

God forbid some poor slob used it to defend him(or her)self from a violent criminal, rapist, or--for that matter--a rabid animal, and the gun malfunctioned.

I could no more knowingly sell a defective gun any more than I would knowingly sell a defective fire extinguisher...which was why I was committed to getting the gun to work...or utterly destroying it with my angle grinder.

All the gunsmiths kept criticizing me for holding on to it.

To each their own, I guess.

Yeah, having morals in the world today is becoming more and more rare. I don’t want to rip anyone else off either. If you think about the times in life when someone did things like that to you and remember how it made you feel, why would you want to do it to someone else!

I carry cash, I.D., and credit cards too.

You've seen those small, nylon zippered belt pouches that are intended for tiny cameras?

They work great for an unobtrusive way to carry EDC stuff.

I have included this picture with a dollar for size comparison.

They are available at Wal-mart in the photo area.

I read up on your taurus tcp, and I may get one. Reviews seem very positive with regards to reliability and handling.

My only issue (this may be closed-minded of me) is that I need a magazine extension so I can rest my pinky finger can help with the grip.

I can't stand shooting guns where my pinky hangs free...this is possibly because of my mild arthritis, and I feel like I shoot better when my whole hand holds the gun.

Are there mags with pinky rests for this taurus?

Thank you for your input.

I honestly don’t know, but any decent gun shop should. Just don’t ask that one guy you went to..... ruger had a similar edc, but there was a plastic part that had mention of failing in some reviews, so I went with the Taurus. I have a compact S&W 9mm I would like to edc, but it’s just a little big for my pocket.

I just put an order in a Buds for Taurus .380 TCP.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to carry it and see how it works for me.

You might try the P238. It's a 380, so light ammo, but it is quite handy. When you don't want the larger carry weight, it fits the bill.

It's great for females with limited strength, the spring is far weaker than any 9mm. But it's not cheap, I think they're in the $500-600 range.

I'd like to get it, but my live-in girlfriend is accusing me of being a gun hoarder as it is, and if I get another one...she may very well kill me.

Your problem isn't the number of weapons. The problem is the 'girlfriend' status. Change that status (upgrade or downgrade) and you may find other issues resolve themselves! But on the other side, if she's 'just a girlfriend', why does she have any clue what and how many weapons you have? I'd call that a strategic error.

I call her a girlfriend for conveinence, but we live together and share our lives, and we've been together for almost 4 years, and I love her very much.

I try to keep her in the loop--even though we sometimes butt heads--because she's entitled to a say in her own home.
