I had an aquaintence once that I told I trust everyone until they give me a reason to not trust them. I was young. He said he never trusted anyone until they proved they were trustworthy. I hope I’m never as cynical as he was but realize with age that I trust less and less people.....

I'd be fine if every cop in my area was let go tomorrow. What little "crime" there is around here doesn't affect me at all.
Other areas may be different, but over all I think there are too many cops, too many laws, too many people in prison, too many lawyers, and too many politicians making new laws.

I live in a low crime area, what crime there is usually is classified as "domestic", no major crime.

"Trust" must be earned...it is not "automatic," and my personal philosophy is basically "trust no one, and you won't be disappointed." Ask yourself, "Would I trust this person with my LIFE?" Because in a SHTF situation that is exactly what you would be doing.

Verify then trust, I always thought that phrase (trust but verify) was a little backwards.

My husband and I were just talking about this same thing the other day. The government wants to take as much money from us as they can, yet dont want to put any into us. Our car got broken into in Charlotte..... they told us it would take 30-45 minutes for someone to come out. WTH...... a big city like that and 45 minutes for a cop to come because its not an emergency.

I feel trust is earned a well. so many people give me bs because they feel until they do something why shouldnt i trust them? my response is why should you. you don't know them like you think you do. I like my chosen family because my real family was like trust the government......what has the government done for me except take my money, and decrease the worth of lives so.....what do i offer them.... NOTHING!!!!!!! i'm one individual that's not a sheep so i am expendable.... that is where trust comes in....all people are replaceable if they don't offer you something, so what do you do? you decide whos the keepers and who slows you down.

I sometime wonder if the gov. press is putting the public between the law enforcement on purpose. Law enforcement has been screwing up for 50 years that I know of, just not put on the street. Then now days everybody has a cell phone, 320,000,000 sets of eyes, whats law enforcement thinking. Military patrolling the streets is just a piece of paper away.The Commander-N-Chief already declared state of emergency ( the wall ) think about it.

I hope that I don't live long enough to see the military protroling our streets. We're close enough to a police state now.

To be honest, the only thing that the law, and the local state and fed, gov see's is prepper. They know they see ( computers ) they hear ( phones ) then the promote (see something say something ) that's fine to a point. When a neighbor can call the law and say anything no proof and now you have to defend yourself on just what some one says. We already have strike one being a prepper.

The only time a Prepper would get on the radar is belonging to groups that act militarized and/or selling illegal stuff. Prepper’s are not targeted solely for prepping.

You very well could be right,I hope so. There is a law against stockpiling food ( I would have to look up again ), The gov. has been trying to pass law to if you have water on your land the gov. will tell you how to use it. The gov. has been and to some extent. stopped the small farmer from selling road side produce . Just that tells me were a target. Hope i'm wrong and hope my prepping is for nothing.

The government be it local or federal can dictate how that water can be utilized, much of the power has come from the formation of the EPA in 1970 and it’s Wetlands Protection and Restoration laws. As far as hording food, I don’t know of any federal statute that prohibits its or any state that prohibits it otherwise the long term food sold in #10 can and 5/6 gal pales would be outlawed
