Just ordered 6 of the British version of MRE packs the 24 hour ration pack, its mainly made up of boil in bags stuff, I still prefer the old style ration Packs 24HR but they are no longer available.

Oddly enough Brent we bought six Barnett Banshee Quads from our local dealers because they were only £45 each, it means we had a bow each plus a spare each that can be stored strung and used on demand. These budget compounds are now tasked for home security with our Take Down Recurves reserved for hunting after TSHTF.
I like having multiple ways of defense, and the fact you don't need bullets is a big plus for a bow. If hard pressed you could make your own arrows in a pinch. I haven't seen a recurve for sale in ages, but wouldn't mind adding it to the list.

Well because I refuse to put myself on official registers I do not have access to fire arms so I and my family have to be more creative,
Compounds have to stand in for Carbines
Recurves replace Rifles
Air Rifles have to stand in for the ubiquitous 22

Take Down recurves are quite popular among British preppers , Alloy or Laminated wood riser plus two QD Limbs) In folded up form my bow in my GHb is only 2 ft long plus 30 arrows (alloy or glass fibre shafts)

Modern Compounds are wonderful tools often under 30 inches long axle to axle with adjustable draw weights from 15 to 45 pounds, absolutely ideal for use in most families. Silent and deadly.

So it is possible to own a gun in England?

Hell yes there is millions of rifles and shotguns legitimately owned in the UK, but unlike the US you have to be approved by the police for a FAC , they can now apparently call unannounced in any time they like to inspect your guns and how they are stored. you are strictly limited to the amount of ammo you can keep at home, all very socialist and Orwellian. The only real certainty in the UK is that every time the police are given new powers they always abuse them.

Maybey it was handguns that i heard about being completely banned. Well, at least there is a way to still legally own a shotgun, as it's my favorite weapon anyways. I recently got a conceal permit to legally carry, and agree that I wasnt happy about being on a national list either.

Yeah handguns are pretty much gone from the UK. what is truly sickening is the fact that our world leading pistol shooting team had to train overseas in the run up to the olympics, but foreign teams were provided with ranges and facilities. Its no use laughing at us you have lefties and socialists growing like a cancer in the US as well, slowly surely steadily with the patience of the gods they WILL erode your rights one tiny piece at a time, banning silencers, large magazines, gun free zones in public places, its an unstoppable cancer. Look at the Cold War over here, what they soviets and other lefties could not achieve with massive armies they are achieving with corrupt lawyers and traitorous left wing politicians, you face the same threat.

Nice lookin' dog house. Reminds me now that I could basically use the same material roof idea...like I did for the bunny hutches.

Here in FL, I have to have a lot of ventilation for my planned dog house, or will get too hot. Nice idea for winter on the door.

Thanks, that metal roofing is wonderful stuff. Even here it gets hot in the summer, but we have much colder winters. I may cut a sliding door down low in the back to ventilate next summer. I just moved the bunnies to the high side of the garden, figured the fertilizer ended up mostly there anyways. I saw them tonight and they looked pretty hot still, so I need to put up some shade cloth ASAP. That area gets a lot of afternoon sun still.

I currently have one pistol, and three box's of MRE's and roughly 145 rounds for my gun, but sadly only one magazine which is no stinking help. But I'm looking buying a ruck type backpack to store my water bladders and something i can have as my grab and run with. Trying to convince my fiance to prep with me as well. Plenty more of my preps to come.

I actually have fans on the bunnies' area, that I can turn on when it's really hot out. It helps.

I don't think I ever actually answered the OP:

Stored Canned Food - some, though I need more as we use it too often, as well as more dry stores

Water Storage - yes, plus we have our own well and rain catchment, though I need more large storage barrels

Stock Up On Batteries - some, though I need to go more into rechargeables and solar charging

Learn Basic Survival Skills - always debatable as to what these are, but growing food, keeping animals, home preserving

Have An Escape Route - mostly we are bugging in, though there is an escape route (but only to regroup and then recapture the ranch)

Created A Bug Out Pack - always have had one of these since I was a teen

Weapons Cache - some, and a decent amount of ammo, though I need some more long guns to add to this. We also have an extensive amount of melee weapons. I also want to get at least a bulletproof vest for everyone, so that will be a bit at a time.

Other items though:

Garden - this is a must have, and something we're doing in Feb., finally (got put off a bit)

Stored Fuel - including additives to keep it fresh (Stabil, etc)

Stockpiled Medical Supplies

Stockpiled Cleaning Supplies

Stockpiled Construction/Repair Supplies - can't tell you how many times it has been handy to have spare lumber, concrete blocks, fencing, fence posts, etc. around to make repairs or even new projects.

I done several things besides stockpile: worked on genting dentistry/ oral health up to date, I have a hospital job as a cardiac technician so I'm in demand in healthcare, I learned basic car mechanics so I can work on small engines, cars, and generators, learned spanish, adopted a bicycling lifestyle, created a library of books, stockpiled meds, completely gave up booze and nicotine in all its forms, many other things.

Most of these preps are cheap and/or free. Being health conscious is, in my mind, half the battle.

Today was a really great day. I smoked a pork loin with apple twigs for an hour and then slow cooked it wrapped up in foil in the oven for a few hours till it was fork fall apart. Threw in some sides of augraten potatoes that I had dehydrated earlier, and some of the green beans and red potatoes I'd canned, and cooked them in turkey broth I had also canned. I made this early in the day and have been snacking pretty much ever since. After gorging for lunch I bottled 15 gallons of last years muscadine wine, which turned out to be one of the best batches I've ever made. It's a sweet red that has more fruity grape flavor than should be legal! I also picked a pail of blueberries to go in the freezer, and enough Concorde grapes to start another five gallons batch. That's the third 5 gal batch I've started with this years grapes. I lastly picked the last of the onions in the greenhouse, a handful of carrots and half a pail of ripe tomatoes. So pretty much this was a good day enjoying some of the preps I've stocked and started a few more. I'm prepping not just for shtf, but to be able to enjoy the stuff I've worked on when it's off season. I only wish I could enjoy every day like this.

I've just had delivery of 20 5lt 'jerry cans' (Will get more when needed) and I'm putting liquids in such as bleach, cooking oil, vinegar etc.. And anything else I can think of...
