Probably best they can throw at them would be corporate manslaughter because there was no INTENT or WILLFUL NEGLIGENCE

Just another possible payday for lawyers. Bloodsucking pigs.... as far as this being sad, yes, any accident sucks. I’m still all for a computer driving though over a human. Distracted drivers kill lots of people every day, computers are up to one. Much better statistics here.

Combine " I Robot" with the "Terminator" to see the end result of giving away our control to machines, ESPECIALLY machines that can be over ridden by terrorists, feds or the government.

IT WILL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL WHEN ANYONE FINDS ME IN A CAR DRIVEN BY A COMPUTER

No thanks. There could be a few small urban areas, or some limited open hiways where a self drive car could eventually work some day. I just don't see them ever working out in most areas on a large scale. How well would they work in a heavy downpour, muddy roads, heavy snow or an ice storm? I don't expect to ever see a self drive around here. Really, how lazy can a person get to not drive his own car??

I’m really just thinking about it being safer. People are way too easily distracted, computers are much quicker and more capable. I don’t think they are ready yet, but at the rate technology grows, it won’t be long.

Yes, I feel the same way about lawyers.

Do you know what the difference is between an attorney and a catfish?

One is covered with slime, has poisonous spines, slithers around in the mud, and is a bottom feeder...and the other is, of course, a fish.

i like driving too much to give it away to a computer.
I like to drive as well. It’s the masses that I think need a computer to take over. Think how much safer we would all be if teenage girls texting on their phones were not in control of a 1500lb chunk of metal going 60mph down the road.

that's why I rarely drive on motorways and only very early in the morning when these idiots are still in their beds.
there aren't many people who drive on the back country roads like I do, most people drive on the main roads.
i'm more likely to drive across country than be found on a motorway.
every time the wife or I go out on the road we assume everyone else is an idiot and drive accordingly, many times we have been proved correct.

Bigpaul, you might want to define "motorway" for us. Is that like a highway? Freeway?

And when you say "cross country" do you mean off-road? Local roads?

I don't see a "self" drive car ever becoming viable for most parts of the country. Maybe in a few small isolated pockets in or around some major cities, maybe. It's more sicence fiction fantasy than realistic for the vast majority of areas or drivers.
