EQs on Juan De Fuca Plate near the Cascadia Subduction Zone. Several 6+ largest being 6.8 and a few 5 and 4 EQs, a slight concern this may trigger the Cascadia, Lisa boss doesn't think so.

Do you think this is all normal activity for the Ring of Fire area? Or do you think there has been an uptick in activity lately? I was reading about the New Madrid Fault. It seems people think there is more activity going on there.

Normal in the ring, the Madrid is questionable but if one (EQ) did hit in that area that's a 6 and over will be devastating structurally and economically. If a mega thrust (9,0) hit's the West coast it would substantially be worse than the Madrid in deaths, economically and structurally. Lets just hope to hell neither one will hit and hope to hell the people along the Madrid Fault are prepared at least. East coast has a lot of faults and the South are not immune to them, in fact Ridgely Tennessee had a 3.3 on the Madrid today.
