Im thinking of getting a turkey. But it'll be for home canning turkey soup.
As for thanksgiving goes.i prolly won't be doing anything this year.including not going anywhere,to spend it with family.we've gone our separate ways to much,for it to be a enjoyable visit.
 
we don't celebrate Christmas in our house..which is when most people eat turkey and at no other time of the year, its a very over rated meat and unless you cook it right its very dry. and most turkeys are commercially bred in huge flocks.
we celebrate the Pagan festival of Yule, usually with a decent piece of beef.

yes Turkey can be dry,but the trick is using a cooking bag,,,we have used them for about 45 years maybe longer,,,the result is a Turkey that is not dried out,,,,,,TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT
