Since survival and bushcraft became popular, many people choose this way to spend their free time. On the trails you can meet hikers, bikers, backpackers with their own stoves, tarps and other stuff. We like campings, skiing, cross-country skiing, kayaks/canoes and we combine those sports with general outdoor activities. Last few years users of FB creates a map of cabins, shelters, enclosed tree stands, old shepherd's cottages and sheds where you can spend the night without tent. Guys describing those places is there source of water closely, is there you can make fires, adding photos and coordinates for GPS. The caled it "Sheding" if I may translate it directly. Quite new trend which gain new followers every year. Offcourse this is only picture of those people which appreciate that type of spending free time. I think that big cities creates same level of shiftless persons here and in every part of the globe. I see no difference between yappies (or whatever they called now) in Warsaw, Cracow, Berlin, Antwerpen or London. Maybe some trend in fashion distinguish. I don't really care - I was born and grew up in city but I discovered nothing really interested for me so moved myself to village. Many people makes the same step also, no matter what they do or how much their earns.
We still got beautiful lands and places to go. After the War there is many mysterys and hidden objects so urbex and prospectors are busy with cameras and detectors.
About common sense - we don't need to study books because our parents and/or grandparents knows a lot and we can learn form them. I myself learned how to make cheese for example from my mother. Although I dont have cows. Just buying milk form local farmer (hate that something-looks-like-milk products from stores). It's big advantage. Also with the storys how it looks like during the War and after, during martial law or communism and empty shelfs in stores. Few years ago group with detectors have found metal cans with fat and honey burried under old oak along with pistol and some ammo - probably deposite from war times.
As a bonus for this things I must add mentality, fits for me. I just love Poland and I can't be objective and that's how I end this opinion.
