That's a dangerous statement. Obamacare was unconstitutional, yet the IRS went after millions who ignored it. Play at your own risk here. Not that I disagree, but it's nothing 'simple'.

It was something about how many gun owners we have vs. the number of military and Leo's.
As I mentioned before, many of those will not be eager to confiscate.

They WILL follow orders. A handful may quit, but very few will give up their cushy benefits and pensions. They will not be our friends.

AD, I think a few will do it. Very few. Most will ignore it unless you're waving it in their face. By profession, police officers might be one of the largest owners of AR15's & AK47s! They'd hate to be hypocrites, and you know they're not going to be turning their own in either.

The police are always excluded from the effects of these laws. I do think many will follow orders. Most will not actively hunt for these"assault" rifles but if ordered to somebodies home to search, yep, they will be there. They have families to support too.

That is an excellent point. "Buy back" is a complete misnomer. It pretty much assumes that the government is the rightful owner of everything and anything a citizen possesses they do so by the grace of the government. . . last time I checked this isn't medieval England. A better term might be compensated theft.
and just when has any buy back program given the owner back the cash they paid for their gun,,,let me save you the trouble of looking,,,NEVER,,,I have never heard of one that gave more than $150.00 for guns,,,,,so this would be simple theft

Sorry Tex but I disagree. Not all police Chiefs are supporters of the second amendment, any more than all county sheriff's are second amendment supporters. The rank and file probably wouldn't turn in their guns but they will follow orders from their superiors. Like I said before; they won't put their pensions and benefits at risk over a law just because they may not agree with it. The little people simply aren't important enough for the cops to risk their retirement over. If they are ordered to start confiscating firearms, they will follow orders and confiscate your firearms.
Do you think it would be worth risking there life over obeying an unconstitutional order?

I think there'd be very little risk to the individual cop. Because there wouldn't be just one cop showing up at your door there'd be several of them. Besides, most Americans wouldn't put up a fight, they'd just roll over. Unless they came for their beer, cigarettes, sports channels, cell phones, welfare/food stamps or internet, most will do little more than just whimper about the loss of their firearms. Nobody has the backbone to band together now days either, no matter how unconstitutional the law may be.

Going back further about 25 years the EU announced a pan European harmonisation of its gun laws, they stated the laws would be standardised and LIBERALISED to ensure all citizens had the right to own guns of NON MILITARY calibres................. I pay attention to this crap about gun control,,,and hell yes there will be a rash of new laws and bans come into effect but not until after the 2020 election,Trump wants a second term so he will drag his feet until he gets it or loses the office,,,,,,,,,,,the Democrats win and it will be much worse

A great example is income taxes. It was unconstitutional in the beginning. Just over 100 years ago, we 'modified' the Constitution and politicians said "hey, it's only for the 1%". Inch by inch, foot by foot, mile by mile that has changed.
I have no doubt they want to do the same with guns. And it is up to us to hold every inch of our Rights.

Socialist thinking, if they cannot get your guns they will go after reloading Equipment, then ammunition. But they WILL find ways to make sure that only THEY have the guns.
