IPoAC Internet protocol will still be up :D

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_over_Avian_Carriers

The official RFC is here: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1149

Basically like sneakernet but using homing pigeons to carry flash drives. High latency but capable of very high bandwidth. It was initially an April Fools' joke, as the protocol called for information written in binary on paper (1990, long before the advent of micro flash drives), but a modified protocol called CPIP (Carrier Pigeon Internet Protocol) was tested in 2001 using flash drives.

vegard@gyversalen:~$ /sbin/ifconfig tun0

River rafting companies have used what is essentially CPIP to send photos on SD cards from the raft back to headquarters via pigeon to be printed, although technically they weren't sending packets that needed a reply.
Homing pigeons get down to business, ferrying rafting company photos

I will definitely have to do more research on this pigeon paging system , but thanks for the idea !
