IR summary: occupants concentrated a grouping of tanks and artillery in the vicinity of the Khrustalny
21.09.2018 - 16:10

Operational data of the group "Information Resistance"

Over the last week, Russian occupation forces in the Donbas have increased the intensity of fire strikes on positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements on the territory controlled by Ukraine. The most intense fire strikes were inflicted by the enemy on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of settlements: Krymskoe, Luganskoe, Svetlodarsk, Chermalyk, Lebedinskoe, Novoluganskoe, Gnutovo, Vodyanoe and Shirokino. Also, the enemy repeatedly fired on the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from small arms in the area of Stanitsa Luganskaya during this period, which is a violation of the agreement on the cultivation of forces in this area.

According to the unified plan of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces with the beginning of the active phase of the drills "Vostok-2018", command post exercises were conducted in 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational grouping of the Russian occupation forces in the Donbass with the concentration of command posts, units and subunits into areas of "Yuzhniy", "Peredovoy" and "Primorsky" training ranges.

To ensure the activities of units of 1st and 2nd of the Army Corps of the operational grouping of the Russian occupation forces, up to 4,000 tons of fuel and lubricants were delivered (railway station Rovenky and Lugansk) from the territory of Russia during a week.

Over the past 24 hours, the main areas of escalation have become Bakhmut area (Novotoshkovka-Krymskoe-Sokolniki), Svetlogorsk arc (south of Svetlogorsk-Luganskoe), and the Mariupol area (almost half of the total number of shelling fell on this site). A characteristic feature of the recent shelling was the active use of heavy grenade launchers and heavy machine guns by the occupiers (at the same time, a number of appropriately trained specialists were sent to the advanced units from training centers). Heavy weapons are used by the enemy selectively and exclusively to solve current tactical tasks.

The next redeployments of forces and means of occupants are noted:

- South of the Khrustalny, the enemy concentrated tank-artillery grouping. In its composition - up to 20 tanks, 32 guns of towed artillery - mostly 122 mm cannon howitzer type D-30/30A. However, 152 mm guns Msta-V and "Hyacint", also not less than 8 units of 122 mm self-propelled guns of type 2С1 "Carnation" are noted. Apparently, the redeployment of these means is conducting to the 7th separate mechanized brigade (the most likely option) or to the Lugansk region, which is less likely. The area of Khrustalny, the invaders use as a "store" in this case;

- On the highway E50 between Enakievo and Panteleimonovka there is a lively traffic of motor vehicles of occupation forces. During the day, at least 20 units of tilted trucks proceeded to the front line. According to the information of the IR group, this refers to the redeployment of manpower and the ammunition to occupation units occupying positions in the Betmanovo-Stavka-Mikhailovka area;

- A motorized infantry unit (up to the battalion size) and a tank company of the occupants arrived at the training ground in the Manuilovka -Ternovoe district. They train joint actions in the offensive. The drills are held with combat shooting;

- The advanced units of the occupants south of Donetsk continue to be in a high level of readiness, the tactical reserve groups are directly pushed to the first line. Their presence is recorded in the area east of Dokuchaevsk, Petrovskoe, Verkhneshirokovskoe and beyond Veseloe. Basically, it consists of 3-4 tanks and a platoon of infantry with light armored vehicles; some of them are reinforced with mortar platoons;

- In the area of Zhelobok - Donetsk - Sentyanovka, occupation forces try to conduct active reconnaissance by several special operation teams. The commanders of the units are regular Russian servicemen. The personnel of the groups were preliminarily trained under the guidance of the instructors of the RF Armed Forces.

The process of "reorganizing" the armed formations of the invaders in the "1st Army Corps DPR" ("OC" Donetsk ") continues. Some units are enlarged at the expense of unification of several into one, some of them are reassigned (mostly those who used the "favor" of the previous leadership of the "DPR"). A number of units are reassigned to the "Ministry of the Interior" or "MGB of the DPR". Not everywhere this "reorganization" takes place without excesses; a number of battalion commanders were detained (for example, "Foma") for opposing these measures.

After blow-up the "Ural" of the occupants on a mine in the area of Dokuchaevsk, the command of the "1st Army Corps DPR" ordered to conduct regular engineering reconnaissance of communications in the zones of responsibility of brigades and regiments. However, according to many subunit commanders, this is unlikely to give the desired effect for two reasons: the acute shortage of properly prepared sappers and the lack of information on the mining of many sectors by the occupiers themselves, including zones behind the militants.

The Russian command ordered to activate centralized training of specialists of "narrow" specialties in both Corps of the occupation forces - snipers, ATGM operators, EW and UAV specialists. And it also reported about the imminent arrival of additional groups of instructors to Donbass from among the regular servicemen of the RF Armed Forces.

The "reformatting" of the power vertical continues in "DPR". At the same time, the line for "uncontested" elections and the appointment of D. Pushilin as the head of the "republic" is being conducted. Within the framework of this campaign, Pushilin already held meetings with a number of heads of large enterprises and representatives of "state administrations".

Russian factor of interference in elections in Ukraine
08.10.2018 - 10:27

The next presidential elections in Ukraine will be the main goal for the Russian propaganda machine, which not missing opportunities to expand its influence in any country where its geopolitical interests are present. At the same time, the domination of Kremlin narratives in Ukraine is significantly higher than in any other country where interference operations in the electoral process were carried out.

The complexity of the situation is due to the fact that in Ukraine there is not only a pro-Russian political lobby that has a certain support among the population, but also a very numerous network of media resources that perform the functions of spreading Moscow-friendly narratives, as well as the vulnerability of Ukraine’s cyberspace to the attacks of Russian Federation. But first of all the bet will be placed on the pro-Russian candidate, public or veiled format.

Hidden and public

The presence of a public candidate of pro-Russian views will allow consolidating the part of the population around him that continues to adhere to anti-Ukrainian views. A veiled pro-Russian candidate will allow bringing pro-Ukrainian voters to his side. At the same time, the opposite and identical slogans will be used, as it was conducted during information operations in European countries and the USA.

Taking into account the socio-psychological factor, the general narrative will be the dissemination of information that undermines social and public peace, focuses attention on the unfavorable economic situation of the country, and distorts facts and real statistical data. Slogans will be distinguished by the presence of peacekeeping notes among pro-Russian lobbyism, in particular, calls for peace, while a candidate oriented toward a pro-Ukrainian voter will rely on the helplessness of the Ukrainian army to the aggressor because of the "incompetent leadership of the country."

The candidates will be supported primarily by pro-Russian information resources, television channels, newspapers, radio stations and Internet sites. At these resources, experts, political scientists and influential media personalities are expressing pro-Russian views of an open or latent nature now. There will also be a bet on foreign experts, which have a sufficiently large amount of Moscow propaganda at their disposal.

The power of social networks

In addition, in order to create an appropriate public reaction among the population, a resource that was not at the disposal of the Russian Federation during its information operations in the EU and the US countries, namely, exacerbation of the situation at the front, could be involved. The escalation of the conflict in the Donbass can be directed to enhance not only panic, but also increase the degree of distrust to the current government.

Examples of how the Kremlin can use negative social factors we could see the German elections to the Bundestag, when Kremlin propaganda stimulated anti-immigration sentiments among the population.

I would like to dwell separately on the use of the social resources factor in the course of the Kremlin’s information operations to interference in elections in other countries, in particular in Ukraine. At the same time, when we talk about cyber threats, it implies not only the notorious interference through hacker attacks, but also large-scale information and psychological operations in social networks.

The vulnerability of users of social networks (SN) is that they sometimes cannot always know how to protect themselves from malicious content. And if the choice of TV channels, newspapers and radio is provided directly to a person, then advertising or content can be imposed on him in the CN, regardless of his desire. In particular, during the presidential election in the United States on Facebook, not only the content discrediting Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton was distributed, but also for a number of other purposes that influence on the elections.

But not only advertising can become a tool for disseminating distorted information in the SN. Practically on all resources that are popular among Ukrainian users, there is a large army of so-called bots (programs posing as human beings), trolls (people acting as commentators and distributors), as well as opinion leaders that are used by Russia to popularize bogus stories, fakes or opinions.

So, in April 2015, using the open source tools of NodeXL, Internet explorer Laurence Alexander collected and visualized data on almost 20,500 pro-Kremlin Twitter accounts, revealing a huge range of attempts to manipulate information in Runet. At the same time, 17,590 Twitter accounts had strong signs of bots.

In 2013, in another segment of the social network, such as LiveJournal, pro-Russian publics and authors began to form in the Ukrainian segment of the resource, which very quickly gained popularity due to a large influx of readers of dubious origin. And although this resource is not as popular among the Ukrainian segment as Facebook or Twitter, its advantageous quality for propaganda is the presence of excellent content indexing in search engines. Meanwhile, today almost the entire Ukrainian segment of LiveJournal is filled with materials from pro-Russian authors.

Thanks to the combination of the work of hacker groups and information support in social networks, Russia will be able to very successfully carry out information and psychological impact on the electoral process in Ukraine, thereby providing important support, in addition to financial and media, to both its candidates and topics requiring mass distribution.

In such unfavorable conditions, the first thing that comes to mind is a large-scale blockage of pro-Russian resources. However, this may provoke a response in the form of accusations of Ukraine in violating freedom of speech and activating the pro-Russian lobby in Europe, which will implant this narrative among the European community.

Studying the methods of interference in the elections of a number of countries, it can be concluded that much of the topics and information used by Russian propaganda are fakes and distortion of real data, events, etc. Therefore, one of the most important moments in the face of opposition to Russian propaganda is the organization of operational groups to dethrone fakes and any false information that plays to the benefit of the interests of the Kremlin.

However, the mere fact of having a quick response to fakes means nothing — an important element is also the dissemination of a refutation of lies. Moreover, the distribution should cover not only by Ukrainian resources with an audience of pro-Ukrainian views, but also have access to the Runet segment.

In a complex of powerful and operational counter-propaganda, as well as ensuring the cybersecurity of important state-owned sites, we can build a sufficiently effective barrier to counter Russian influence in our information space.

The next step could be tightening control over content that is published both on Internet resources and on TV, radio, and print media. And it is not so much about censorship, but about the authenticity of published materials and topics. With a well-established verification of the authenticity of facts, it is not difficult to promptly catch Russian propagandists in a lie, which in the future may be the reason for more stringent measures applicable to their activities.

Operational data group "Information Resistance"

In the period from October 3 to 9 of this year, the intensity of fire strikes from the Russian occupation forces in the Donbas on the positions of the Ukrainian troops and settlements in the territory controlled by Ukraine slightly decreased. In total, during this period, units of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of operational grouping of the Russian occupation forces carried out about 230 fire attacks (about 265 in the past week period) from 122-mm artillery systems, 82/120-mm mortars, 122-mm portable rocket launchers "Grad-P”, BMPs and tanks.

The most intense fire strikes were inflicted by the enemy on the positions of the Ukrainian troops in the area of settlements: Crimean, Novotoshkovskoye, Svobodniy, Yekaterinovka, Novozvanovka, Luganskoe, Novoluganskoe, Travnevoe, Orekhovoe, Svetlodarsk, Starognatovka, Krasnogorovka, Novomikhaylovka, Novotroitskoe, Gnutovo, Vodyanoe, Lebedinskoe and Shirokino.

Over the past day, the main areas of fire strikes by the enemy are:

- The section of the Bakhmut route from Novotoshkovka to Sokolniki (120-mm and 82-mm mortars, combat armored vehicles, heavy machine guns);

- “Svetlodarsk arc” (mainly - mortars of both main calibers, ATGM launches were recorded twice);

- The outskirts of Gorlovka (mainly 82 mm mortars, occasionally 120 mm and 122 mm barreled artillery);

- Several areas south of Donetsk right up to the Azov Sea coast (a wide range of armaments was recorded, including 122-mm barrel artillery, mortars, and combat armored vehicles).

At the same time, systematic attempts of the enemy are noted with use of heavy armament fire to destroy the engineering and fortification structures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including individual trenches or positions.

After the recent destruction of several occupier snipers, the enemy began to use sniper weapons exclusively with the support of duty or additional fire weapons (mostly heavy machine guns or 82 mm mortars). Also, the occupants stepped up surveillance of the front edge of the JF and the neutral zone, in order to identify the beginning of the revitalization of Ukrainian troops in a particular area.

In connection with the deterioration of weather conditions, the enemy was forced to reduce the intensity of conducting aerial reconnaissance of combat orders of the Joint forces using UAVs. In the period from 2 to 8 October of this year, 4 reconnaissance flights of the UAV were recorded with entry into the operational-tactical depth of the defense of the United Forces. At the same time, there has been an increase in the activity of the special operation teams and sniper groups of the enemy along the entire contact line.

The operational situation in the area of the JFO remains tense. The Russian occupying forces are holding events aimed at raising the level of tension on the demarcation line in order to strengthen their negotiating positions in a dialogue with Western countries on the eve of organizing and conducting the so-called “Election of the head of the DPR” (scheduled on November 11 of this year).

The enemy conducts daily training with his duty artillery units, practicing the issues of their deployment in firing positions and preparing for a fire attack on the Joint Forces. On the most dangerous axes, enemy fire weapons are in combat positions constantly in readiness for immediate use.

Within the framework of a unified plan of the operational and combat training systems of the Southern Military Department of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Headquarters of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the occupying forces prepares for joint command and staff exercises in mid-October of this year involving so-called “Military commissariats of the DPR and the LPR”, “The power structures of the DPR and the LPR” and representatives of the Russian occupational administration.

To ensure the activities of units and subunits of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational group of the Russian occupation forces in the Donbas, about 1100 tons of fuel and lubricants were delivered (railway station Art Rovenky) from Russia in period from 3 to 9 October of this year.

The redeployment of forces and means of the occupiers is noted in the next areas:

- South-west of Holmovskoe, a 4-gun battery of 122-mm guns of the D-30/30A type of occupants was fixed in one of the landings, deployed in a disguised firing position in readiness to fire in the north and northeast direction;

- Behind the eastern edge of Pikuzy, a new company of the enemy is marked on the BMP – 1/2 and MT-LB (6 vehicles), which have occupied positions to the west and north-west. Only a part of the equipment was trenched, the rest is “masked”;

- On the highway N-21 in the area of Shakhtersk, the movement of several columns of trucks with items of material and technical supply was recorded;

- In the area of Uglegorsk, a unit of Russian UAVs is recorded. The occupants specify the front line and the battle formations of the advanced JF units in this direction. An active radio exchange is being recorded at once between several new “addressees” in this area;

- There are changes in the number of heavy weapons in the artillery "park" of the invaders in the area of the Hrustalniy. Up to 4 barreled 122-mm and 152-mm artillery batteries, as well as at least 7 units of 100-mm PT-guns such as MT-12 "Rapier" and Immediately 18 units of 122 mm self-propelled guns of the type 2S1 "Carnation" were added.

The command of the “2nd Army Corps of the LPR” conducts an internal investigation on several facts of “deliberately putting the vehicle out of service because of the unwillingness of personnel to repair it”. In the suspects there are several "soldiers" from among the drivers of different units.

The special unit ("special forces") "MGB LPR" received a new uniform and weapons. Attention is drawn to the fact that part of the kits of the form received with stripes of the SBU (probably, for provocations). It is also worth noting that lately, due to a shortage of personnel, in the special unit of the “MGB LPR” candidates are recruited without prior serious study of moral and psychological qualities and due medical examination for the passage of “service”.

"Military commissariats of LPR" continue to conduct checks of personal data of men aged 18 to 55 years old (residential address, actual place of residence, place of work, state of health, etc.). There are also active mobilization activities among men under the age of 40, especially from among those who were laid off from suspended factories.

The “MGB DPR” agency spreads rumors among the residents of the occupied territory about the “forced replacement” of the priests of the Svyatogorsk Lavra (UOC MP, Svyatogorsk, Donetsk region) with priests of the UOC-KP. Also, according to the MGB DPR, the Ukrainian authorities are allegedly preparing mass seizures of churches of the UOC-MP with the help of “radical activists and representatives of the UOC-KP”. At the same time, in Donetsk, the militants spread rumors among the local population that “gunmen of the UOC-KP” will attack the Kiev Lavra at October 14 of this year.

In the 1st and 7th brigades of the “1st Army Corps DPR” (OC “Donetsk”), the command fixes the mass use of narcotic opiate drugs by personnel (the use of light drugs is not considered a misconduct). Dealers bring the "goods" almost directly to the CPs of units. A drug with codename "Mix" is in the trend. According to the brigade commanders, representatives of the “Ministry of Internal Affairs of the DPR” “cover” the drug distribution scheme.

In the “DPR”, a significant part of bakeries announced information about intentions to raise (and some enterprises have already raised) selling prices for bakery products. Given the increase in the cost of certain types of raw materials up to 71% and the rise in prices for fuel and lubricants, the cost of production can increase in 2-2.5 times. This information has already caused a negative response among the local population of the occupied districts of the Donetsk region.

Analysis of Kremlin strategy for Ukraine's election period
16.10.2018 - 09:48

In late September, President Vladimir Putin approved the Concept and Strategy (general directions) of the Kremlin’s actions for the period of presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine, that's according to the Information Resistance (IR) OSINT community, UNIAN writes.

Russian government agencies and NGOs are tasked with focusing their main efforts not only on the presidential election in 2019, but also on preparing for parliamentary elections, IR coordinator MP Dmytro Tymchuk wrote on Facebook Oct 16.

"At the same time, the task is set to provide large-scale organizational, financial and informational support to both open and veiled pro-Russian forces," the report says. "The strategy also determines that the issue of uniting these forces into a single party or bloc structure is secondary and irrelevant."

At the same time, Putin's aide Vladislav Surkov and his team of political consultants managed to convince the Russian president that the centralized management of headquarters of pro-Russian candidates by a unified team of political technologists (according to the IR, it's about Viktor Medvedchuk’s team) bears organizational risks connected with long-standing personal conflicts among Ukrainian oligarchs and intergroup confrontations among Ukrainian politicians of the pro-Russian camp.

In addition, according to the Kremlin's concept, the Russian financial and media support of "loyal" politicians in Ukraine will be based on the willingness of said politicians to publicly recognize the Russian annexation of Crimea and implement the project of Ukraine's federalization.

At the same time, Surkov removed from the agenda the question regarding mandatory support of the Moscow Patriarchate's position on the issue of autocephaly for the Church of Ukraine.

"Therefore, Moscow will no longer insist that the Ukrainian politicians on whom the bet is being made necessarily declare their opposition to the granting of autocephaly to the Church of Ukraine," Tymchuk says, explaining that this is justified by the fact that for the campaign period, the Kremlin is set to recruit as agents of influence a number of politicians from Kyiv and the central regions of Ukraine, where the voters more strongly support the idea of creating the independent Church of Ukraine.

Operational data group "Information Resistance"

Over the last week period, the intensity of fire strikes from the Russian occupation forces in the Donbas on the positions of the Ukrainian troops and settlements on the territory under control of Ukraine remained high. In total, during this period, the artillery units of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational group of the Russian occupation forces carried out about 130 fire attacks (during the last week period about 180) from 100-mm artillery systems, 82/120-mm mortars, 122-mm portable rocket launchers “Grad-P”, BMP and tanks. The use of ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns (including installed on transport platforms) by the occupation forces, and the standard armament of armored combat vehicles (mainly BMP and BTR) also notes.

The main sectors of the enemy’s combat activity are the Donetsk direction (area of Avdeevka, Peski and Marinka), the Svetlodarsk arc (from Novoluhansk and areas south of Svetlodarsk directly to the vicinity of Troitskoe), the Mariupol direction (the section from Pavlopol to the coast) is also subject to constant fire raids from the occupation forces. The main part of the cases of the use by the enemy of heavy weapons falls on just the last two sections (on some days the enemy fired 60-80 mines of both calibers).

In addition, the occupation forces continue to conduct active reconnaissance of the front edge of the Joint Forces, their nearest tactical rear, and partly the operational-tactical depth. To do this, they use both technical means (UAV, EW), and the actions of the special operation teams, as well as agents in the front-line. However, due to the deterioration of weather conditions, the enemy was forced to reduce the intensity of conducting aerial reconnaissance of the battle formations of the Joint forces with using UAVs.

To support the activities of units and subunits of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of operational group of the Russian occupation forces, about 2,300 tons of fuel and lubricants (railway station Borisovka and Rovenki) were delivered from the territory of Russia over the last weekly period, and the 82nd “humanitarian convoy” has arrived through uncontrolled check points Izvarino and Uspenka, which delivered about 700 tons of cargo to the occupied territories.

Military activity in the occupied territories:

- The units and subunits of 1st and 2nd Army Corps got the order to strengthen countermeasures to the activities of the Ukrainian UAVs, according to which the equipment for additional aerial observation posts was started, as well as more actively started to use the EW (electronic warfare) units of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational group of the Russian occupying forces. Also, in order to fight with UAVs, the occupants pushed into the first line air defense weapons in number of areas. Basically, these are the 9K35 Strela-10M air defense missile system, MANPADS and ZU-23-2. The appearance of these means is noted in the area of Pervomayka, the northern outskirts of Gorlovka, north of Avdeevka, the main part of this is noted in the area of Svetlodarsk arc.

- The shooting and tactical-special training sessions were conducted immediately at several training grounds in the “DPR” and “LPR” (for example, at the “Tsentralny”, “Primorsky”, “Udarny”, “Yuzhny”, “Peredovoy”. Also the command of the occupiers conducts training and exercises with artillery units, with the performance of live firing using regular ammunition. Artillery units (up to the battalion) are involved, including the rocket artillery units.

- The Russian command is strengthening its tactical group in the area of the “Bakhmut Route” - the redeployment of the armored group of occupants towards Sentyanovka through Petrovenki was recorded. At least 6 tanks and 5 other armored combat vehicles (BMP and MT-LB) were recorded. The occupants redeployed armored vehicles at dusk and at night, trying to hide the significant reinforcement of their units in this area. Most likely, this will be a reserve group for case of a "breakout of the Armed Forces of Ukraine", or for its own actions.

- On the highway N-21, the redeployment of material and technical means for the needs of the 1st Army Corps “DPR” to Donetsk and the Gorlovka area through Chistyakovo (formerly Torez) and Shakhtersk is continuing. During the week, redeployments of armored vehicles (up to 10 units with trailers), several columns of Kamaz and Ural type trucks (10-12 units each) and other vehicles were noted. Particular attention was paid to the column with 4 "Kamaz" with antenna fixtures on the roofs (apparently, we are talking about long-distance communication complexes or EW). These vehicles were convoyed by 2 BTR-80 and 1 Tiger in the direction of Donetsk.

- Occupants actively prepare stronghold points in the second line (echelon) at several sites - in the northeastern outskirts of Gorlovka, Stepovoe, Smeloe and Zheltoe, north of Novoazovsk, in the areas of Kreshchatytskoe, Staromaryevka, Styla and southeast of Dokuchaevsk. Engineering works are being carried out; shelters for personnel and equipment are being built, in some cases we are talking about the construction of barriers (including mine explosives).

- In the area south of Vesylorovka, a new division of the occupiers is noted, redeployed for reinforcement: 5-6 units of BMP-1, partially trenched or sheltered in the folds of the area.

- In the area of Panteleimonovka, the enemy’s mobile fire group was recorded again, , consisting of 2 Urals, 1 MT-LB and GAZ-66 and moving in a southeast direction.

The Russian occupational command in the temporarily occupied territories is actively pursuing a preparing for the so-called “the election of the heads of the DPR / LPR” (11 November of this year). In this connection, from October 23 to October 26 of this year, exercises of “units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs” were held on the formation of the so-called “Detachments of territorial defense”, organizing the protection and defense of state buildings and institutions, counteracting and restoring order in the event of mass riots, and localizing emergency situations at critical infrastructure facilities.

In the “DPR”, in coordination with the so-called “Ministry of Education”, the so-called “companies for training and military-patriotic education of youth” began to function as part of the “brigades” and separate regiments and battalions of the “1stArmy Corps of DPR”. In fact, the occupiers decided, right from childhood and youth, to totally prepare the population of the occupied territories for a “war with Ukraine”, building a wide network of “training centers”, “companies” and other structures. Also they started to conduct the so-called “Lessons of courage” and other “military-patriotic” actions in educational institutions of “LDPR”.

At least 1,000 workers have left the healthcare sector of the “LPR” since the beginning of 2018. The situation is caused by substantial wage arrears, as well as low provision of necessary medicines and medical means.

In connection with the decrease in the level of solvency of the population “LDPR”, manufacturers from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus began to deliver mainly low-quality products to the occupied territory of Donbass. Due to the low price, such goods are in great demand, which provides an opportunity for manufacturers of these countries to sell illiquid products, receiving significant profits.

The leaders of the “LPR” plan to resolve the issue of paying off wage arrears to the militants of units and subunits of the “2nd Army Corps LPR” by transferring to their ownership apartments, cottages and land plots of citizens who left “LPR”. Earlier, as the IR group reported, Russia significantly reduced the costs of maintaining for 1st and 2nd Army Corps.

Operational data of the Information Resistance group

The occupation units of the Russian Armed Forces in the Donbas continue armed provocations and shelling in the zone of the operation of the Joint Forces (OS). During the week, the average daily number of attacks ranged from 10-12 to 17-19 per day. Basically, the enemy uses automatic small arms, large-caliber machine guns, mounted and hand-held grenade launchers, less often anti-aircraft installations of the ZU-23-2 type and standard armament of combat armored vehicles. Occasionally, occupants use 82 mm and 120 mm mortars.

Over the past few days, the occupiers most intensively fired in the vicinity of Donetsk (Peski, Krasnogorovka), Gorlovka (Novgorodskoe region and environs) and almost constantly - in the coastal direction and south of Donetsk (most of the cases when the enemy used heavy weapons).

The main purpose of enemy attacks and provocations were attempts to disclosure the firing system of the advanced units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, their general battle order, to clarify the locations of their units and assets. In some cases, the enemy opened fire with the aim of inflicting the fire damage to the advanced units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and holding the fire initiative. There were also attempts by the enemy through the use of fire to conceal a number of regroupings of their tactical-scale formations.

The command of the occupying formations continues to conduct a reconnaissance of the combat orders of the JF units and formations, right up to the operational-tactical depth of their operational construction, while striving to pay special attention to command posts (control points), storage areas of ammunition in the frontline zone, key points and communication nodes. The activation of enemy intelligence in the front-line zone is also noted in order to clarify certain details and recent changes in the operational construction of the JF grouping in the on-line mode. There are attempts by the enemy to track the movement of Ukrainian military personnel and units of equipment.

To maintain the units and subunits of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational grouping of the Russian occupation forces in readiness for the intensification of the conduct of hostilities, control of combat readiness of the units was systematically conducted by the occupational command over the last week. At the military grounds “Tsentralny”, “Primorsky”, “Udarny”, “Yuzhny” and “Peredovoy”, training sessions on fire, tactical and special training, as well as training with shooting and fire control of duty artillery units were conducted.

In addition, within the framework of a unified plan and system of operational and combat training of the Southern Military District of the RF Armed Forces, the HQs of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the occupying forces conduct the planning and preparation for the holding of the command and staff exercises in December of this year with aim to work out the issues of conducting offensive operations in the Azov-Black Sea operational direction.

To support the activities of the units and subunits of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational group of the Russian occupation forces, about 500 tons of fuel and lubricants (railway station Borisovka) were delivered from the territory of Russia in the last weekly period, and a train with small arms ammunition and shells for artillery systems of various calibers arrived.

Military activity:

- In the area northwest of Almaznaya (south of Kalinovo) – the redeployment of a significant group of occupants' armored vehicles - at least 12 units (mainly BMP-1 and MT-LB), the group had two units of Strela-10M air defense missile system and at least 1 unit of AD system ZU-23-2. North of Veselogorovka in beams - mortar positions for 4 units of 120-mm mortars, disguised and prepared for opening fire on the positions of the JF in the area of Troitskoe;

- In the area to the north of Panteleimonovka in the direction to the north of Gorlovka, the EW mobile group of the enemy operates. It consists of 3 units of three-axle Kamaz-kung with characteristic antenna devices, at least 2 Ural tented and 1 BTR-80 with an escort team, completed by well-equipped personnel of the RF Armed Forces;

- The rotation at the advanced positions in the 7th separate mechanized brigade of the occupying forces is finished. One of the battalions that operated north-west and north of Debaltsevo was taken to the PDP (permanent dislocation point) "for restoration". The command is trying to actively staff it by militants from among local collaborators, since a significant number of Russian mercenaries from the battalion fled back to Russia after its withdrawal from the front line;

- Between Staromaryevka and Boykovskoe (Telmanovo), active movement of vehicles of the occupants is recorded - 8-10 Ural and Kamaz in both directions for every 5-7 hours. Apparently, the unit (BTGr) of the enemy from the 1st separate mechanized brigade, which “sealed up” the combat order of the invaders in this sector last month, is either actively preparing for winter or is preparing for some kind of active hostilities;

- In the seaside direction, in the area of Bezymennoe and the “triangle” of Zaichenko - Azov - Veseloe, the occupants continue to mask groups of tanks (2-3 vehicles each), as reserve groups. The equipment is carefully camouflaged and hid in the folds of the terrain (mainly in gentle ravines and beams). The command of the invaders is really afraid of any active actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the seaside direction.

The Russian occupational command continues to actively carry out the work on the preparation for the so-called “The election of the heads of the DPR / LPR” (11 November of this year). In this regard, the occupational administration of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories strengthened the administrative-police and counter-intelligence regime. The staff of the so-called “security structures DPR / LPR” transferred to combat alert duty. Exercises are conducted to refine the algorithm in the event of a seizure or attack on a polling station, as well as to “restore order” in the event of riots.

In the “1st Army Corps”, commanders of various levels and representatives of the “MGB DPR” (“military counterintelligence”) actively establish among the “servicemen” those who have a criminal background and are prone to committing offenses. In particular, according to the orders of the Russian “advisers” at the headquarters of the “1st Army Corps of the DPR”, this kind of “military personnel” was ordered to be kept under special control. Separately, persons are established for whom existing criminal cases are open (especially from among citizens of the Russian Federation), and who are hiding in the territory of the “LDPR” from criminal prosecution, as well as local citizens who have committed crimes in the territory of the Russian Federation. The presence of various “call signs”, “pseudonyms”, “nicknames” by which local militants and Russian mercenaries appear in various “accounting bases” of the “1st Army Corps DPR” makes this work very difficult. In addition, measures to identify such elements have already caused a negative response in the ranks of local militants and Russian mercenaries in the 3rdseparate mechanized brigade, the 9th separate mechanized regiment and some separate battalions.

Immediately at several sites (mostly - non-operating industrial enterprises, closed mines and development, infrastructure facilities), a sharp increase in the number of so-called "metal marauders" cutting metal is recorded on the outskirts of Donetsk, Gorlovka, in the area of Kadievka (Stakhanov) and in a number of villages in the south of the occupied part of the Luhansk region. Previously, the "flourishing" of this kind of looting was recorded in 2015-2016. In this case, such marauders are not just well equipped with tools and equipment for cutting metal, but also armed. The armed clashes are fixed on the basis of competition for certain objects.

In the “DPR” and “LPR”, among all sorts of collaborators from among the public sector workers, small and medium-sized officials of the occupation administrations, former law enforcement officers who went over to the side of the occupiers, etc., a significant resonance was caused by the fact that the lists of “DPR citizens participating in organization and conduct of elections on November 11" are in the open Internet. Rumors are spreading in Donetsk and Lugansk that the Ukrainian authorities will deny social benefits for voting in the “election”, and they will be arrested if they try to cross the line of demarcation. The occupation administrations and the "MGB" are trying to deal with panic rumors, but unsuccessfully so far.

In the “LPR”, first of all in Alchevsk and Kadievka, pro-Ukrainian slogans began to appear again in public places, on the walls of houses, public transport stops, shops, etc. According to the MGB LPR, the authors of the slogans are not representatives of the Ukrainian underground, and adolescents who “succumbed to the Ukrainian propaganda”. In this case, according to the leadership of the “MGB”, this “department” relieves responsibility for the ineffective counterintelligence work.

The occupants began actively to jam the Ukrainian FM radio stations, which began broadcasting on the occupied territories of Donbass. Additional technical means of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are being deployed for this. In addition, the occupation administrations threaten to apply tough measures to citizens for listening to Ukrainian radio stations. In this connection, the “MGB” “LDPR” began to receive denunciations from local residents about “secret auditions”. Especially this situation is typical for Gorlovka, where some zones with relatively confident reception appeared.

A big disappointment for residents of areas controlled by the “DPR” is caused by the end of the expected “sharp increase in salaries and pensions”. The expectations were so strong that “the Ministry of Finance of the DPR” on this occasion even had to come up with an “official statement” that the rumors about the increase in salaries and pensions were fakes distributed by “Ukrainian propaganda”.

In connection with the critical financial situation, the administration of the “head of the LPR” considers the question of canceling social assistance payments to privileged categories of the population in the amount of 7,600 rubles for the purchase of coal for the winter period. According to the management of “LPR”, such cancellation should be introduced only after the “elections”.

At the "Lugansk Aircraft Repair Plant" (Lugansk), the number of workers over the past four years has decreased from 590 to 120 people. The situation is connected with the introduction of a one-day working week at the enterprise and wage arrears, which currently amount to about 9 million rubles. Given the specific of the work, it is extremely difficult to find another job for discharged workers.

The surgical and trauma departments do not function in the Debaltsevo Central City Hospital (Debaltsevo, Donetsk Region), due to the lack of doctors of the appropriate profile. Due to extremely low wages and harsh working conditions, most of the specialists went to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities or to the Russian Federation.

Russian Orthodox Church's "little men in cassocks" already in Istanbul
14.11.2018 - 11:57

mytro Tymchuk, the coordinator of the Ukrainian-based Information Resistance OSINT community, has said the Russian Orthodox Church, who he brands the ROC-FSB, hinting at its long-standing ties with the Russian security service, went for an offensive on the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople after severing communion with the Mother Church.

Attacking an enemy on its own territory is in the Kremlin's traditions, Tymchuk wrote on Facebook, UNIAN reports.

An ROC priest, Georgy Sergeev, arrived in Istanbul and delivered his first sermon in the temple of St. Constantine and Helen (located in the territory of the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul).

The cleric's arrival was explained by the ROC with "numerous requests of Orthodox believers living in Turkey," Tymchuk notes, drawing parallels with the Kremlin's claims of 2014 that Russian speakers in Crimea had been seeking Russia's interference against "Ukrainian nationalists."

"However, merely 20 people attended the service, Tymchuk noted.

Conducting sermons in Istanbul previously required Russian Orthodox Church getting a permission from the Patriarchate of Constantinople or sending their priest under the jurisdiction of Constantinople.

"Now the opinion of the Patriarchate of Constantinople was defiantly ignored," the expert wrote.

"It means the ROC-FSB is infiltrating Constantinople (Istanbul) with 'little men in cassocks' who have taken up the role of the Russian 'little green men' [soldiers without insignia who flooded the Ukrainian Crimea as Russia made its first active moves to illegally annex the peninsula]. Church is now another front of the Russian hybrid war. Welcome to the phantasmagoric world of the peculiar 'Russian Orthodoxy'," Tymchuk added.

Ukrainian army reports no losses in past day as Russian proxies mounted eight attacks in Donbas

Combined Russian-separatist forces continued inviting retaliation of the Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone over the past 24-hour period.
As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of Nov. 13, the Russian-led forces committed eight attacks on the Ukrainian troops using weapons banned by the Minsk agreements twice.

"The Russian occupying troops employed grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns and small arms against defenders of Krymske, Krasnohorivka, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Vodiane and Hnutove. The invaders also bombarded the Joint Forces’ stronghold in the vicinity of Krymske village with 82-mm mortar shells twice.

The most intense hostilities were recorded in the Sea of Azov littoral area: the Ukrainian troops deployed near Chermalyk were deliberately fired upon with the armament of the infantry fighting vehicles.

"Not a single Ukrainian serviceman was killed or wounded in action over the past day," the report says.

It is noted that today, Nov. 14, the Russian mercenaries attacked defenders of Krasnohorivka using no heavy weapons and inflicting no casualties on the Joint Forces fighters.

Intelligence sources indicate two Russian invaders eliminated and five more wounded on Nov. 13.

Operational data group "Information Resistance"

In the last week period, the intensity of fire strikes from the Russian occupation forces in the Donbass on the positions of the Ukrainian troops and settlements in the territory controlled by Ukraine has relatively decreased. In total, during this period, units of 1st and 2nd Army Corps operational group of the Russian occupation forces carried out up to 100 fire raids (more than 130 during the previous week period) from 100-mm artillery systems, 82/120-mm mortars, 122-mm portable rocket launchers “Grad-P”, BMPs and tanks.

The most intense fire strikes by the enemy were inflicted on the positions of the Ukrainian troops in the area of settlements: Novotoshkovskoe, Luganskoe, Orekhovo, Taramchuk, Zolotoe, Volniy, Peski, Avdeevka, Krasnogorovka, Pavlopol, Lebedinskoe, Gnutovo, Vodyanoe and Shyrokino.

In order to identify changes in the battle orders of the Joint forces, the enemy increased the intensity of aerial reconnaissance. The active activities of the EW maneuver groups of the enemy are noted along the entire line of contact. The continuation of active reconnaissance of the forward edge and the tactical rear of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is also noted, with using the actions of the special operation teams (by observing or raiding the tactical rear of the Ukrainian troops). At the same time, the occupants seek to reveal, first of all, the location of the CP of AFU, communication centers, the presence of radio networks, determine the locations of the storage depots, military equipment, fuel storage and distribution points.

To accomplish the tasks of fire destruction of the Joint forces, the enemy actively attracted regular and duty artillery units from Corps artillery of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational group of the Russian occupation forces. At the same time, the enemy concentrated its fire weapons on the destruction of the system of observation posts of the Joint forces, and also tried to inflict maximum damage on the Ukrainian troops in live force, weapons and equipment. In addition, during the last week, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to oust the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from their positions in the Popasnaya direction.

According to unified plan of the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the units and subunits of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational group of the Russian occupational forces continue to prepare equipment for the autumn-winter period of operation. Also within the framework of the unified plan and operational and combat training system of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces the preparatory period continues in 1stand 2nd Army Corps, during which questions on fire and tactical and special training with junior commanders were worked out at the military training grounds “Slavny” and “Udarny”, “Yuzhny”, “Pokrovsky”, “Udaloy”, “Vostochny” “Peredovoy” and “Primorsky”.

To ensure the activities of units and subunits of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational group of the Russian occupation forces, about 1,300 tons of fuel and lubricants were delivered from the territory of Russia (railway station Rovenky) from November 6 to 12 of this year.

Military activity:

- during the week, the enemy repeatedly shot down landmarks using single weapons in the coastal direction and in the area of Gorlovka, that is indicating the emergence and deployment of new artillery units in these areas (in the depth of the battle formations);

- In the area along the Bakhmutka from Zhelobok and southeast, the invaders continue to strengthen their units with armored vehicles. During the last 24 hours a batch of 6 BMP-1 and 2 MT-LBs was recorded. The group was recorded during a march to the north in the area of Petrovenki. We have to recall that in previous periods there was a transfer of at least 20 units of different combat armored vehicles to the three main areas of the “Stakhanov grouping” of the occupying forces - to the Pervomayka, Kalinovo and Bakhmutka regions;

- Occupants are actively strengthening in the area of Naberezhnoe – Kaplany. The appearance of 4 new platoon strongholds points and a number of firing positions is recorded. Remarkably, the militants are trying to carefully mask the new positions, in contrast to the previous equipment, when the engineering work was carried out openly;

- The command of the “1st Army Corps of the DPR” (OC “Donetsk”) continues to worry about the area of the Gorlovka “balcony”. In addition to conducting active reconnaissance in these areas, it is trying to secretly accumulate reserves in this “threatening direction”. The next transfer of motorized rifle unit (up to 12 armored personnel carriers — mainly the BMP-2 and the BTR-70/80) to this sector through the Panteleymonovka was noted. The main “reinforcement” activities are carried out along the line of Krutaya Balka - Betmanovo - Stavki.

The occupants have fixed problems in the storage and operation of ammunition. The disposal of small batches of ammunition by exploding them at several “ranges” at once is fixed (this week, similar events were held south of Gorlovka in open pits and at “ranges”). The main reason is the delivery of ammunition from the Russian Federation with expired expiration dates, when their use is unsafe for the militants themselves. Also, in view of the deliveries of large quantities of various types of ammunition from Russia during the last half of the year, the occupants have an acute shortage of storage places and specialized warehouses, as well as relevant specialists and technologies.

The occupants carry out an information operation to intimidate the population of the front-line zone of the occupied areas with “Bandera Ukrainian paratroopers” (allegedly two brigades of the Ukrainian airborne assault troops, staffed exclusively by “natives of western Ukraine”, who experience “particular hatred towards the population of Donbass”, arrived at the front). This information was previously launched and actively distributed through social networks. At the moment the second stage has begun - “rumors at the bus stop and on the market”. The main goal is to reduce the flow of local people going shopping, social benefits and etc. on to the territory controlled by Ukraine (according to a “coincidence”, the information is disseminated, that these “Bandera paratroopers” allegedly settled in front of CPs Mayorsk and Marinka).

Recently, the “elected” leaders of the “DPR” are trying to recover the money spent on the “elections” as quickly as possible (spent on free or cheap food, alcoholic beverages, entertainment programs, etc.). For this purpose, “law enforcement agencies and special services of the DPR” were ordered to force industrial enterprises to sign “contracts” for firefighting services from the “Emergencies Ministry of the DPR” in the amount of up to 450 thousand rubles per month per enterprise. At the same time, according to the management of the industrial enterprises, the economically reasonable cost of these services does not exceed 130 thousand rubles per month. A designated so-called the “power of the DPR” price is significantly inflated and can lead to the leaching of working capital of enterprises.

At the Snezhnyanskiy machine-building plant of PJSC Motor Sich, which is located on the territory controlled by the “DPR” (Snezhnoye, Donetsk Region), the number of workers decreased from 3,000 to 1,500 people. Half of them are on unpaid leave, and the other half (with an average salary of 5,000 rubles) is transferred to a three-day working week. In this connection, production volumes decreased by 30-40% compared with 2017.

REFERENCE. Snezhnyanskiy Machine-Building Plant is a specialized enterprise in the structure of PJSC Motor Sich for the production of blades and disks of gas turbine engines. Before the occupation, 55 types and modifications of aircraft engines were involved in the production. After the so-called “Nationalization” in “DPR”, at the end of 2017 Motor Sich announced an official announcement about the loss of control over the management of the assets of this Plant.

In Makeevka, the workers of the Kalinovskaya-Vostochnaya mine are paid a minimum amount of salary for about 3 months, coal is not produced. Due to the lack of timely pumping of water at the mine, the threat of flooding of the Kalinovo (Makeevka) is growing.

On the territory controlled by the “DPR”, the redistribution of property between the latter-day representatives of the “government of the republic” continues. One of the results was the cessation of the operation of the Obzhora and Avoska chain stores.

Thanks for the updates. I find it interesting that as the state takes over more and more business, the production continues to decline. I do admit I get a bit lost with all the military and political designations but I am trying to follow along.

IR summary: Russian “curators” actively spread out the rumors about "offensive of the AFU" in the headquarters of the "1st AC DPR"
23.11.2018 - 09:58

Operational data group "Information Resistance"

The Russian occupation forces continue to fire on the positions of JF units and on areas, where civilians live, adjacent to the demarcation line. In recent days, the occupiers conduct about 20 armed provocations and attacks per day. In most of cases the enemy uses automatic weapons, heavy machine guns, mounted and handle grenade launchers, less often 82-mm and 120-mm mortars, standard armament of combat armored vehicles and anti-aircraft systems. In addition, episodic shelling is noted (probably for the purpose of zeroing) by 122mm and 152mm single guns (usually in series of 4-5 shells).

Some decrease in the number of attacks by the occupiers in recent weeks was due to the preparation, organization and holding of the “election of the heads of the DPR / LPR” on November 11, and therefore the command of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational group of the Russian occupation forces got the directive of the RAF General Staff, which prescribed to limit the firing at the positions of the Ukrainian troops and settlements in the territory controlled by Ukraine during the preparation, organization, conduct and announcement of the results of the so-called “election of the heads of the DPR/LPR”. In this connection, after the end of the “elections”, we can expect an increase in the number of attacks from the side of the invaders in the near future to the level of June-August of this year.

The active fire activity of the enemy is appeared in several areas — the area of Bakhmutka, the Pervomaisk-Popasnaya, north of Kadievka, the Peski-Avdiivka, the outskirts of Gorlovka, south of Donetsk (the Dokuchaevsk and the adjacent areas, up to Petrovskoy), the coastal direction ( from Pavlopol to the coast).

The enemy continues to conduct active and diverse reconnaissance of the battle orders of the advanced JF units, their tactical rear and the situation in the frontline zone. Enemy uses technical assets, agents and military intelligence for this. There is an increase in the conduct of EW by specialized units of the occupation forces (mainly staffed by Russian specialists) and the use of UAVs in order to obtain information about the JF positions. Thus, 13 reconnaissance flights of the UAV of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were recorded in the period from November 13 to 19 this year, incl. 6 flights UAV "Orlan-10", which were carried out with the entry into the operational-tactical depth of the defense of the Joint Forces. At the same time, one of the UAV "Orlan-10" was shot down by air defense unit of the Joint Forces. The enemy focused particular attention on clarifying the operational situation, as well as identifying changes in the battle orders of the Joint Forces.

The active "sniper war" continues, as well as attempts by the enemy's special operation teams to mine the terrain in the neutral zone, and in the nearest tactical rear of the advanced units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, the conducting of engineering reconnaissance of the area is noted, as well as attempts to unleash the so-called "mine war". To this end, the occupants actively monitor the regime of daily activities of the JF units; establish places and time intervals when the opportunity for mining is appeared.

To support the activities of units and subunits of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of operational group of the Russian occupation forces, about 2,100 tons of fuel and lubricants were delivered from the territory of Russia (railway stations Voznesenovka, Borisovka and Rovenki) in the last week period.

Other military activities:

- The command of the “1st Army Corps DPR” (“OTC “Donetsk”) completes a set of measures to strengthen its grouping in the area of Gorlovka and in the sector of Ozerianovka-Yasinovataya. The emergence and deployment of a number of enemy artillery units (not previously noted) in the system of so-called “on-duty artillery means” at hidden firing positions is noted. In total, the redeployment of 3 new 4-6 gun batteries (mainly 122-mm cannon and self-propelled artillery) to this area is noted. The progress of the deployment of these artillery units is monitored by a special commission from the headquarters of the “1st Army Corps DPR”. Reserve units were created (mainly in the form of reserve platoons with attached armored vehicles - 4-5 BMP-1/2 and 2-3 tanks each), which are held in the second line in higher readiness levels in addition to the units occupying the first line. It should be noted that the reinforcement measures were prepared and carried out according to a well-established pattern, similar to the scheme used by the command of the “1stArmy Corps DPR” in the area south of Dokuchaevsk and at the coastal direction;

- There is a motorized rifle battalion of the “2nd Army Corps LNR” (according to preliminary data, from the “4th brigade”) in the area of Shimshinovka (village in the Lutugino district of the Luhansk region). The personnel of the battalion work out the interaction as part of the battalion tactical group (BTGr) in various types of combined arms warfare. The battalion was reinforced by the tank company and an artillery unit - in total up to 30 combat armored vehicles, 11 tanks (type T-72) and 6 units of 122-mm self-propelled guns type 2S1 "Carnation". After practicing the coordination, the command plans to conduct battalion tactical exercises with live firing and checks of the professional readiness of specialists in individual military specialties;

- The command of the "2nd Army Corps LPR" regroups artillery units. The movement of an artillery unit (artillery division) was fixed in the area of Beloye - 6 units of 122 mm D-30A-30 guns, 4 units of 122-mm self-propelled guns 2S1 “Carnation”, 4 cargo trucks Ural and 1 mobile control point.

- The command of the “2nd Army Corps LPR” continues to strengthen its “Stakhanov grouping”. In the north-east and east of Kadievka (formerly Stakhanov), small groups of armored vehicles of the occupants were redeployed to the front during last two weeks. The redeployment of 4-5 units of BMP-1/2, MT-LB, BTR-70/80 and motor transport was fixed in the areas of Stepovoe, Petrovenki and Sentyanovka in the general direction “towards the highway” (meaning the position of the occupants in the area of the so-called “Bahmutka”);

- The command of the occupying forces continues the equipment of new stronghold points and firing positions in areas of the Kalinovo, Kalinovo-Borshevatoye, Molodezhnoe and Berezovskoe, including for heavy weapons (120-mm mortars), as well as attempts to conceal the installation of mine-explosive obstacles in certain parts of the area. Thus, invaders gradually turn Pervomayka and vicinities into powerful fortified area;

The Russian occupational command actively pursues the formation and training of a “military reserve”. Occupants work out the notification of the “liable for military service” about the need to pass a medical commission with further referral to military training camps (duration - 2 weeks).

Also, the command of both "Army Corps" of the occupational forces makes titanic efforts to further manning their subordinate "units and subunits" with personnel, weapons and military equipment. Significant forces and funds from the staff of the “brigades and regiments” of both Army Corps are attracted to the training of reservists. The deployed field camps and personnel reception points (up to 4) on a number of training grounds are centrally provided with material and technical equipment, instructor-commanding personnel, allocated specially for this event (the “responsible brigades and regiments” are appointed). It is supposed not only to improve the system of “registration” of the personnel and to conduct its enhanced military professional training, but also to conduct active campaign regarding the admission of “everyone who wants” to the ranks of the “defenders of Novorossia”.

Mobile personnel recruitment stations have been deployed in Donetsk and Lugansk in the units of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the occupying forces. After completing the documents, the selected personnel are detached to undergo intensive military training in military camps on the territory of the Rostov region of the Russian Federation for 1.5-2 months. There, under the guidance of Russian instructors, they receive skills in fire, special tactical, reconnaissance and sabotage training, after which they are distributed and assigned to regular units of 1st and 2ndArmy Corps.

In both Army Corps of the occupation troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Donbass, measures were taken to draw up new applications for the supply of weapons and military equipment and registration, and testing of existing weapons and military equipment was carried out, their actual technical condition was determined. It is assumed that the “units” of both Army Corps will be completed by new massive supplies of weapons and military equipment from Russia to the regular number in the next 2-3 months. In this regard, of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the headquarters of the 8th Combined-arms Army of RAF carry out the considerable efforts, which seek to establish a centralized and effective system of repair and maintenance of weapons and military equipment through the use of a “local resource base” (the Russian command seriously looks at the existing industrial potential of the occupied regions as the foundation of the repair and technical base for the formations of both “Corps”). The practice of using enterprises in the region for the repair and maintenance of weapons and military equipment of the formations of both Army Corps is being carefully studied, additional possibilities are being sought (special structural divisions / departments of both Army Corps work in this direction).

The rumors about the "impending offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" actively spread out in the headquarters of the "1st AK DPR" again. At this time, they are about the plans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces "to cut off Gorlovka". Allegedly, according to certain “reliable information”, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had already planned an operation for the rapid encircling of Gorlovka, for which the troops were already “redeployed” to the front line. In this respect, the final preparations of the occupiers for the “battles for Gorlovka” (strengthening the units of the 3rd separate mechanized brigade and positions in this area) are indicative. According to sources of the IR group, the “authors” of such information, with references to intelligence, are Russian “advisers” in the headquarters of “1stArmy Corps”. The Russian command is trying to “keep in tune” the occupation forces in an important direction.

Occupation administrations seriously worry about the beginning of a steady reception of a television signal from the territory controlled by Ukraine. According to the message of the state security agencies of the invaders, the signal of at least 6 Ukrainian TV channels is consistently caught up to the outskirts of Shakhtyorsk. “MGB DPR” states that the Ukrainian side “has established a whole network of powerful transmitters along the line of demarcation through which Ukrainian propaganda is transmitted”. According to this information, the most powerful transmitter is installed near Volnovakha. In this regard, the “MGB DPR” proposes a solution of the problem - to blow up the transmitters by sabotage or “targeted artillery fire”.

On the territories controlled by the “DPR” and “LPR”, rumors spread among representatives of the occupation administrations of the middle and lower level, as well as the local population that Yanukovych will return soon. Supposedly, Yanukovych “will return to the Donbass as a “manager” or “head of the united LDNR”, that will be part of Ukraine “on special conditions”, in connection with which the “war will end” - on the terms of “LDNR”. According to these rumors, Kiev allegedly carry out secret negotiations on this scenario with Moscow, Donetsk and Luhansk at present time, and Yanukovych was hospitalized under the guise of a “contrived injury” to delay and later disrupt his trial.

During the so-called “Election campaign” in the “DPR” D.Pushilin in his public relations relied on “the planned increase in salaries of state employees” by 20 percent. At the same time, plans to reduce the allowances and bonuses, as well as to eliminate payments for the work experience of this category of workers, were agreed at the “DPR” occupation administration. As a result, instead of additional significant amounts (from 1,000 rubles), state employees received from 200 up to 300 rubles.

In order to create additional sources of filling the “budget of the LPR”, Russian “curators” plan to restore the taxation of Vneshtorgservis, DTEK Sverdlovanthracite and DTEK Rovenkyanthracite (now a taxation moratorium applies to these enterprises).

Several Ukrainian warships attacked, seized by Russian commandos in Sea of Azov, - Navy

Russian coast guard ships opened fire on a group of vessels of the Ukrainian Navy – two small-sized 'Berdiansk' and 'Nikopol' armored artillery boats and the 'Yany Kapu' tugboat – as they were leaving the Kerch Strait on Sunday evening.

As reported by Censor.NET citing UNIAN, the press office for the Ukrainian Navy said in a statement that on Sunday morning, the Yany Kapu (Yani Qapi) tugboat of Ukraine's Navy was rammed by a Russian coast guard ship while the Ukrainian vessels were carrying out a planned transfer from the port of Odesa to the port of Mariupol in the Sea of Azov.

The Ukrainian side said notification about the transfer plans had been done in advance in accordance with international rules to ensure safe navigation. Russia, in turn, claims that the Ukrainian vessels "illegally" entered the temporarily closed water area of the territorial sea of the Russian Federation. The FSB alleges that the Ukrainian side did not file an application for passage and its boats were not included in the timetable for navigation through the Kerch Strait.

The Ukrainian Navy's command insists that under Articles 17 and 38 of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and Article 2 of the Treaty between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on cooperation in the use of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait, Ukrainian warships enjoy freedom of navigation, and therefore can pass through the Kerch Strait at any time, subject only to navigation safety rules. Later, it became known that a Russian special ops unit had seized the three Ukrainian boats when they were leaving the Kerch Strait. Early reports said that two Ukrainian navy sailors were wounded.

Land mines: Just another example of the world going one direction and Russia doing something different. Not too likely the Russians will remove or remember where they placed all the land mines after the fighting is over.

Russia's coast guard ship rams Ukrainian tugboat amid transfer from Odesa to Mariupol. VIDEO
26.11.2018 - 09:58
Russia's 'Don' coast guard ship has rammed a Ukrainian tugboat amid the transfer of Ukrainian ships from the port of Odesa to the port of Mariupol in the Sea of Azov, UNIAN reports.

"The 'Don' coast guard ship rammed our tugboat, as a result of which the main engine of the ship was damaged," the Ukrainian Navy said on Facebook on Sunday morning.

It also damaged the shell plating and guard railing of the Ukrainian tugboat, and its life raft was lost, it said.

The incident happened on Sunday, November 25.

In the video shot from the Russian attacker ship's cockpit, the captain is heard yelling out commands, heavily swearing.

Faster, come on! Good job! Crush it from the starboard side! F***ing crush it from the right! Crush it! I'll f***ing get it here. Press it. Midships! Come on, come on! F***ing press it! F***ing port 5. Port 10! Stop engine! Stop engine! Take hold on board! Reverse! Reverse! F***ing reverse! Come on! F***ing come on! Hold on everyone! F***ing b***h! Hold on board!

After the ship rammed the tug, one of the crewmen is heard saying "That was great!" "A group of vessels, namely two small-sized 'Berdiansk' and 'Nikopol' armored artillery boats and the 'Yany Kapu' (Yanı Qapı) tugboat of Ukraine's Navy were carrying out a planned transfer from the port of Odesa to the port of Mariupol of the Sea of Azov today, November 25. Notification about the transfer plans was done in advance in accordance with international rules to ensure safe navigation. Yet, contrary to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Treaty between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on Cooperation in the Use of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait, Russian ships – Sobol-class patrol boats, the 'Don' coast guard ship, Mangust-class patrol boats, and the 'Suzdalets' corvette – carried out openly aggressive acts against the ships of the Ukrainian Navy," the Navy said.

The Russian dispatcher service refuses to ensure the right to freedom of navigation, guaranteed by international agreements, it said. Despite the incident, the Ukrainian Navy's ships continue performing their tasks in keeping with international law.

The Ukrainian side says that all illegal actions have been recorded by the crews of the ships and the command of Ukraine's Navy and reports will be handed over to the respective international agencies.

West slow with response to Russian aggression, - IR coordinator
26.11.2018 - 11:50

So far, Ukraine has heard only a few partner countries voice their official position regarding the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine near the Kerch Strait, Ukraine's MP, coordinator of the Information Resistance OSINT group Dmitriy Tymchuk said Monday, UNIAN reports.

"It's Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Canada... The U.S. Congress has appealed to the president with the demand to bring Putin to justice at the G-20 summit," the deputy wrote on Facebook.

"The EU is still reacting at the level of 2014 – they express "deep concern" and ask the "parties" not to make any sharp moves. (Alas, there is the same picture in NATO, where all decisions are taken by consensus: 'we call for restraint and de-escalation'). History does not teach Europe anything. At least, this is my impression at the moment (I hope to be mistaken)," wrote Tymchuk.

"Let's see how and when the West and the UN will get things spinning. Meanwhile, just like in 2014, we should only rely on ourselves. Fortunately, our army and navy is far from the wretched level of 2014," Tymchuk wrote.

"Russian aggressors have decided to finally show their true face without hiding behind the mantra of 'we're not there'. BHhere, it was all 'Russian style' - shooting "in the back" as Ukrainian ships were heading back," the deputy wrote, noting that the disposition of forces in the area was 10:1 in Russian favor.

The deputy also mocked Russian propaganda media reports about "floating mines," which Ukrainian vessels were allegedly carrying.

"Stupid lies," Tymchuk wrote, adding that ramming a vessel loaded with mines would be an insane move for the Russian vessel, which nevertheless hit the Ukrainian tugboat, badly damaging it.

The West must understand the simple truth. All these talks about the alleged "provocations of the Ukrainian Navy" are not without a reason. Later, Russian aggressors might attack a civilian ship in the Black Sea, maybe a cruise ship, and they will be claiming there was some "Ukrainian torpedo" involved, Tymchuk suggests, recalling of the barbaric act of the shooting down of an MH-17 flight, when Russian media rushed to blame Ukraine.
