You can get cheaper buckets, that also seal with gamma lids.
That's pretty much what I do for other storage. I just wish I could get more of the slanted mouth ones cheap.
That way, they can be stacked, but still fully accessible. That's really the cool part about it.

Does anyone know where I can get some of the old style steel Jeep Jerry cans? Not the new government designed "safety" junk they make now.

Most of the one's I've seen are post 80s (garbage) the good one's I have seen are pre 79' and they bring a premium price without the carrier and spout though very difficult to find in good usable condition.

It would be next to impossible to find pre 1979 jerry cans at a military surplus store, mid to late 90s the only place I seen them were wrecking yards being used by the yard hands. For the good ones it's eBay today at almost a $100 a can, the post 1979 can's are flat out garbage, today military jerry cans are plastic for the most part it's the plastic ones at the surplus stores unfortunately. The pre 79 have the year on them post 79 only half may have the year and thinner steel that don't seal worth a damn with the screw on spout and cap.

I've seen them off and on at one near me, but then, it was a few years back. But, they were the metal ones. They had plastic too, of course. I didn't price them at the time, but even the plastic ones weren't that cheap, so I didn't bother. They price metal ammo boxes too high too (or at least this one does). But, mine has GREAT prices on military clothing, cammo, and boots. Just hard to find in my size, as I'm a bigger guy.

I know where you can get plenty, but you probably wont travel here or pay the postage to get them there, sorry about that.

Though those ain't pre-1979 U.S., we can get the one's similar to the ad and the newer U.S. Military jerry's here all day long, I believe Arctic were looking for the older cans. :)

Exactly. The older pre-government nanny "safety" cans. I've seen some for sale on EBay, but they are expensive. Guess I'll have to pay the price.
