I can see it now....Krime for President, backed by Clydsdale the Beer mongel, with insurance from colt 1911. Lmao!!

Maybe one of us should run for president, then rlect in the rest of us as members of the senate??? The US might become a sane place IMO LOL
If I had the cash I would love to run for President! I assure you there would be some things changed through executive order so i don't have to deal with the senate/congress. However, I wouldn't abuse the system as executive orders can be over turned by the following president.

It seems to me that the pool of politicians we have to choose from is getting increasingly more shallow!
I hear ya, I don't even want to vote...I don't think any of them are worth a s$%t! I am still in shock that our government is getting involved with what sugary drinks we drink, are are trying to mandate them??? WTF??There is nothing better to worry about, like creating jobs? No instead they have time to put thier communist practices in play!

I agree. I am amazed though not surprised that NY went after the size of drinks. To me that flies in the face of the Constitution. What right does the government have to dictate what, and how much I eat? The answer.... they don't!!

Each election the choice gets worse!

water water everywhere, and none safe enough to drink.
Like everything else your location will dictate the sources of your survival.
If you are unlucky enough to be in the city, water will be everywhere, good drinkable treated water.
same place you will find it in the more rural areas as well. when the pressure stops pushing water there is still gallons of it in every home. People will die of dehydration without thinking of it.
In the pipes, and hot water heater. whats really cool is there is a bib on the bottom of every one of them to get the water out.
(timing ................... up to 3 months, possibly 6 months.) here is the fact though, even at 6 months it will be better than the filth of rotten carniage that will be flowing in the waterways of a city.
If you are in the country, you should already have your sources identified. You should also have implements in place to purify your water, sand filters/charcoal filters, bleach or iodine .
For those who hope to escape into the country, there is iodine tablets etc. small charcoal cartrages. It needs to be known that 90 % of American waters are unfit to drink as it is. Pollutants as well as microbes are waiting for you. Gyardia, dysentery, hepatitis, and hookworms for a start, one case of (beaver fever) lol and you are done, you will not have energy to walk, you have most likely become a victim.
Distilation is the best, but it takes time and fire, boiling second best, takes time and fire. chemical 3rd best, tastes bad but can be done on the hoof.
Remember there will be others out there in same need as you, want to meet them, build a fire, LOL. That pot of water will be worth more than your life, to someone whom does not have a pot.
Most parts of America, there are vines, grape vines or others. cut the high end first, then the lower to get water from them.
If you dont know the difference between poisonous vines, and nonpoisonous find out, I can just see somebody sucking on a poison ivy vine right now.

Do you have much experience with the hand held water filters you get at places like REI?
If so can you recommend one?
I know this filters are not a substitute for knowledge of water purification.
Maybe, I should reenlist in the Army as a water purification specialist.

No, I have little interaction with hand held water filters.
I would be of no help on this item.
I have not nor do not trust them.
I have had scouts use them, (with waivers from the parents including my reluctance, and thier responsibilty on the matter)
I have always rather shown people the sure way to purify, and take the gamble out of it.
I remember being told somewhere that even with ultra-violet treatment water needed treated with a .2 micron filtration unit to pass the US EPA standard.
If you can dig a hole 5 feet from a creek, and wait for the water to filter to it, and not be able to drink it for fear of microbes,
I aint drinking no water, from unreliable sources that was poured through a hand filter. Then pack it around for a week, using it. nope.
I at one time years ago, had a ceramic filter, .2 microns, but I never used it.

I am not a gambler, I am a prepper.

They have worked fine for me. I have filtered gallons and gallons water. Never had any problems. I think it's way important to have a filter. Would not leave with out it.

Have you ever filtered and drank water that you knew was contanimated with microbes, and pollutants?

Ya, filtered some nasty stuff, would use your method if I had the time, but I would still filter it.

Well you have the best I have ever seen. Interesting it utilizes a .2 micron ceramic filter.
Expensive at the counter but I could see the reward.
Thank you, I have been schooled, and that is not often.

Though every place I researched it said it did not kill 99.99% of waterborn Viruses.
So any waterway downstream of populated areas I would not siphen from LOL.

I will still give you your credit it appears to be the best hand filtration unit I have ever seen.

This is what I carry in my (GHB) the super small life straw filter.
