promise guys and gals, to show us the first blade you make,I wanna see it!!!

show us the first blade you make
That'll be a while, how about a fire poker? :)

I am interested in making blades though, I'll give it a try when I get my smithy set up.

haven't done any thing like this since school, it was fun

seems like kids here today aren't doing any of this, they deem it to be to dangerous, I asked my oldest son and he said they didn't do any, one reason was that their teacher didn't know how to..

Funnily enough it seems they do teach blacksmithing at my local school, who woulda thought? They just happen to have a teacher who is interested and also found a local old guy who's been a smithy all his life to mentor the program.

lucky them!!
I had an"old school" teacher, you didn't mess during his classes or troubles came to you,but he knew what to teach us.
we made chairs, tables, what could be done out of wood,we made.
he tought us the basics in blacksmithing, how to weld...miss those days in school and I know that kids today arenot thought those skills 'cause some tools used can be dangerous, any tool is if you use it wrong

Yeah everything is too dangerous these days, I think that's why there's such a rise in electronic forms of reading material, all those paper cuts from books. I've been lucky in that I've read several books and not been harmed but you can't be too careful :)

yeah, think how the casualty rate goes up when they get papercuts ;)
