I had a tomato plant break so I brought a tomato into the house to ripen. I waited 3 days and walked in today and my mother was laughing and said .......i hope you don't mind that I ate your first tomato of the season. She had been to the store and bought 4 today so she didn't have to eat it. I wanted to cry. I told her she could have at least saved me a bite and that I thought it was rude. I don't argue with mom because shes my mom, but I had been planning on eating that tomato tonight. She got all pissy and said she would never eat my garden stuff again blah blah... All she had to do was apologize but she has never done so in my 60 years. I'm still wanting to cry. Lol. My daughter agrees it was really rude. THE 1ST ONE OF THE YEAR.
That's my vent for the day.
Here’s hoping you’ll have a lot more tomatoes in the near future!

I've really let the garden go this year. I normally water every other day, but it's been almost a week now since I watered. The strawberry bed is loaded with ripe berries and most are going bad. The raspberries are going to be ripening soon too. I'm feeling a little better today so I might start watering. My wife will be home a week from Friday. She can take over then.

Squirrels are climbing the fence to eat of few bites out of my tomatoes. There is water for them to drink so that's not the reason. I had to pull some that are turning to keep the little rats out of them.
For me it's been chipmunks getting in the garden, and everything else. Almost every day I shoot up to 5 of the little buggers.

My dogs keep most of the pests away from the garden. Of course I had to fence them out of it to keep them from trampling it though. They can run all the way around it chasing any furry thieves at least.
