Knickers (short for knickerbockers) aren't underwear, they are the pants golfers wear. And "pants" aren't underwear either, they are what you call "trousers."
Mean's underwear are called "undies", "drawers", "skivvies", "boxers", "tidy whities", "briefs", "underpants", or just "underwear."
Trousers are called "pants", "slacks", "jeans", "britches", "breeches", or "khakis"
"Shorts" can either mean underwear or short pants.

Regardless of what they're called I don't think I would want to wear them as a mask.
And they're so casual about it.
