Does anyone have recommendations to staying prepared as a college student. I live in student housing in Chicago, and same as most college students, I do not have alot of excess money.

What would be the most likely events I could prep for here? I like to think I live in a moderately safe area of the city but when riots break out people can be unpredictable.

Also planning on making a 9 hour drive commute back home if SHTF - I want to be with my family on their homestead for this type of situation. They prep and I feel survivial will be much easier in a rural area. So what are your ideas on getting out of the city safely and quickly in such a situation. And sorry, but I do not plan on moving to a different school that's closer to home - I know that's what alot of people on this forum have been suggesting. I want to be a prepper but I also can't live as a scared man everyday who is afraid to leave home. Thanks in advance.

no,don't be that scared dude locked in your house, but use and practice situational awarness, try to stay a few steps ahead,by following the news,
learn to choose the correct news from a shit load of crap.
don't trust everything you read on social media.
try to be proactive, instead of reacting when shit happens,as a city dweller myself,it could be to late then.

Silent Earth is just trying to start another one of his anti city people threads. Really? A college has to ask such a question?

Or is this but a 60 year Englishmen living in a rural town looking to stir the pot? There are hundreds of urban prepper related YouTube videos on the internet.

If your going to pretend to be a college student try to be a little creative at least.

Most of these members live in extremely rural areas and don't even particularly like city people to begin with.

This is the last place I'd ask advice for urban prepping. There are plenty of experienced popular urban preppers on YouTube. If you were a real college student you would know this.

if it makes sense to bug-in to my dorm. what could i prep here? there's 4 secured-entry doors before you can reach my room so it may be safer than finding a bol

Also @jontte , is there anything that can be done about him? I have him on ignore but occasionally check to see his ramblings on every post I make - it's quite harassing. I've messaged Clyde but haven't heard back.

Thanks

This is brilliant Silent Earth. So your intention is to get me banned using this fake account that you supposedly ignored me in.

Guess what I already requested my account be closed so I couldn't give two f#cks.

What I am going to do is continue to call you out. Because u know your not a college student in Chicago. No college student would ask such stupid questions.

just calm down guys :) it's almost x-mas and santa is watching ;)

for a city dweller, the weather is something you need to take into your thoughts,as we tend to take for granted
that we have heating 24/7,running water 24/7,but only 15-20 klicks from where I live, some heavy snow took out power lines, and many
thousand house holds were without electricity, still is,prolly after tomorrow, when we get more of the snow/sleeth it gets worse again.
