That's why I will be wearing what I described. Best of both worlds. It's functional (and cool in hot weather), looks non-threatening, but still allows for concealment if I need that option, without making me look like military or a LMOE.

I'm wearing some dark khaki cargo shorts, hiking boots, and an olive drab fishing shirt (breathes well, and lots of pockets), along with a green ball cap (with a Slytherin logo). As long as you understand camo principles (i.e. breaking up your human form), you're fine. I'd rather not look like a Last Man On Earth type.... I'd rather have folks completely underestimate me, and inaccurately assess me.

I'd never go with shorts. Better get some zipup model and zip open the knees for air.
More protection from bushes etc. and still the ability to regulate heat and cover yourself in case you're getting a sun burn.

They are long shorts, go to the knees. I've traipsed through my share of brush with them playing woods paintball enough so that going through it isn't really going to bother me much. Chances are, temps will be in the high 80's or 90's during my trek home, so keeping cool is paramount for me. I mean, our high TODAY is 82, and it's nearly Christmas.....

Blues? Lol. Or do you mean digi's which isn't their "uniform" it's technically their called MARPAT MCCUU's. Which ones do you mean? Desert or jungle? The vest your wearing in the photo is army pattern by the way.

I have my dads old bdu's from when he was a active duty marine during desert storm, and I have Vietnam jungle boots from the marine corps league that I got for free, and I have my dads old desert camo too, with the desert boots, I just need face camo, or a ghillie suit

How do I make a ghillie suit? I have an old tank suit also but I don't know how to make it into a ghillie suit

Wearing a ghillie suit for a long time isn't exactly easy. Not to mention, pretty hard to convince anyone you aren't military, if that arises, while wearing one. (and a real hassle to get to your gear).

If you must though, here's directions

Also they say to dye the burlap but i found that flat spray paint works just as well.

Many trained snipers only use ghillies if cover is limited . They call it being big and hairy it can work just the opisite of what you want because it makes you big and bulky . When they are needed nothing works better to change your outline into somthing the eye don't reconize . I've seen dyed and spray painted the paint is easier to use .

I highly recommend picking up one of the 3d Leaf suits. As effective as ghillie suits are they tend to get caught up in branches/twigs in dense foliage.

Hey Justin, just realized your in Northern Michigan as I am. Dude, you will blend in in hunting camo without a second thought up here!

We are prior military as well, still have some issued camis, but I would stick to seasonal hunting clothes

I have used both the dyes and spray paint to color your burlap or jute. Personal preference really. Either way works. What kind of suit are you wanting to accomplish if you don't already have one. And what is the vegetation like around the area you will be operating in.

I saw a picture of the new U.S Army's new camo called Operational camo . Kind of a blend of the old woodland and multicam . Nice camo .
