I had a 1911 .45 and my reloads, featuring hornady 185 gr jhp's (didnt expand in animal tests due to too-thick jacket and too small a nose cavity, ) and 8.5 grs of Unique powder. I touched off one rd over their heads, and they got back into their car a lot faster than they'd gotten out!
