Tonight we're just doing Brinner....eggs, bacon, ham, toast, waffles, that kind of stuff.

Saturday, eating out

Sunday, stuffed pork chops (butterflied, baked with stuffing) with green beans on the side (cooked with bacon and onions).

6 Nations Rugby is just about to start, so I made a big breakfast omelette earlier to cut into wedges to graze on as and when I feel like it.

Tonight I grilled a 3 dollar steak on the BBQ. Plus I diced up some potato's, jalapeno and bell peppers and roasted them on the grill too. Was planning to wash it down with my favorite beverage but the dam dog dug the bottle out of the snow bank and hid it somewhere.

just think of it as a spring surprise, you'll find it when the snow melts.:)

BTW how is mrs AD?

I just threw all the leftover turkey parts (bones and all) into a pot and cooked it down in some water. I took the bones and fat out after about 40 mins. Then I took some carrots, celery, green onions, and a little bell pepper and chopped them up and simmered them in the broth. I also threw in the tiny bit of leftover stuffing and mashed potatoes and green beans that I had left in the fridge, along with some garlic and pepper. At the very end I threw in a bag and a half of wide egg noodles. Right now it's a nasty cold and wet night, but I'm enjoying a big pot of really good turkey noodle soup, next to a good fire and a pit bull that's glued to my side. It dosent get much better. I feel even better knowing that most would just throw out the leftover bones, but with a little time they make another great meal.

Sounds like a good evening.

We missed last Sunday's dinner with my parents and grandfather. Since I took yesterday off we all headed over there for a make Up Sunday dinner. Steak and potatoes and five generations of family under one roof. It was a really good evening. After dinner granddad dad and me had a couple glasses of bourbon. Unfortunatly I dont think there will be too many more evenings like that. Granddad is a hundred and three this year.

Lazy day today...just threw some frozen meatballs, jarred spaghetti sauce, some diced onions and chopped mushrooms (and some shredded cheese and seasonings) into a crock pot, to crock all day while we're at work. That way, can just come home, cook the noodles, and bam....spaghetti and meatballs.

The grocery store here has steaks cut from shoulder roast that are pretty cheap. I bought some recently and grilled them. They were not filet mignon by any stretch but on par with sirloin.

Just had a 1" thick sirloin cooked on the ceramic egg grill at 550 degs. Perfect char on the outside and warm pink on the inside. Also made a batch of potatoe salad from last years canned red potatoes, some of my canned carrots with honey, and a fresh salad from the greenhouse with loads of spinache in it. I'm really a happy camper right now. Eating a huge meal at 9:30 at night might not be the smartest move if you're trying to loose weight though....
