They worshiped in places marked by buildings over topped by a huge Yellow 'M' sign , we think it meant Meeting place or was the first letter of one of their lesser prophets McDonald. I'm a Bible thumper. Well, sort of , maybe. Depends on just what the definition of one is. BUT, even I know, like Dr. H said, nobody knows when it will all end. Just try to be ready when it does.

Any of you guys ever been through a rough enough patch of life to where you wondered if we had already lived, really sucked and were in hell? I've been there a couple times....

Even when we are all going to die this year they still want money *sigh

Well you just missed your chance. 2016WF9 came whizzing by Earth today at about 32 million miles away. Earth was never in any danger from this. As far as not knowing when it all will end, why would you want to know? There is a lot out there we cannot change we just have to accept that at some point in our existence there will come a time when Earth no longer exist. Or we as a human race cease to exist. Sometime over the next billion or so years its predicted that our Sun will swallow us up.

But then look at it this way...You could walk out your house and cross the street and get ran over by a bus and no longer exist...Or some rogue space rock like the fear mongers are fond of predicting could come our way...This is a harrowing situation we are not equip to deal with..Some NASA experts predict we would need at least 5 years advance notice to deflect an incoming rock. Forecasting whats going to happen in the future is failure as not a single person has ever predicted our demise with accuracy. Matter of fact they are batting a big fat 0!

And as far as Bible thumpers go they are preaching from a 1600 year old book. And the prophecies in that book are so open ended you could make anything work in them....I believe that the writers were predicting what would happen during their life time and not anything in the future..

Hell, live for today folks because we are not guaranteed tomorrow...Frankly I do not worry about this crap its needless petty worry if you ask me and no one is.

Kind of sounds like this winter to me.

I too am a bible thumper. We all have our path, my indepth study of science is what convinced me that God must exist. Then my study of His Bible is what made me realize how loving He really is.

But in any group, you will find the wise and the wacko. There are firemen who save lives & those who are arsonists. The only question is the ratio. You'll find 999:1 good firemen. The ratio sadly isn't as good for Christians, but those few oddballs don't mean you should throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Problem is most Christians mind their own business so people don't know about them. So a lot of people only know about the obnoxious ones.

Really? Which part did you find more loving.. The one that approves of slavery, the one that approves of stoning to death those who have unsanctioned sexual relations, or the part that commands you to haul your own daughter down to the village elders and spread her legs wide so they can inspect her (Female Anatomy 101)? And lets not even talk about those who work on Sunday...

True enough.. Most Christians aren't very good Christians.. but they are good people. You can be a good Christian and a lousy person or you can be a lousy Christian and a good person.. you can't be both.. not by modern standards anyhow.

All the Christians I know are lousy horrible Christians.. but they're good, hardworking and trustworthy people..

That's not true.. Most Christians pretend to mind their own business by using a proxy (the establishment of church) to do their dirty work for them..

The only way a Christian could truly mind their own business is if their religion never left the confines of their home.. and we all know that doesn't happen..
