Greetings Texas Prepper,

Hello interested prepper. I've been prepping for a bit now. Those interested in meet and greet in the North Texas regional area, specifically along the Red River area, give me a PM or leave a comment below.

If your not in the regional area, but simply need help, give me a shout...see what I can do to help you.

Regards,

Silent Bob

you mention railways..yall may of thought of this already..but have yall thought of using the railway as a bug out route?..reason i suggest that,is this.lets say we have a complete economic collapse.and/or a total loss of the power grid..now i ask.whats the chances of the tracks being used when it comes to trains/railroad crews that has the railroad work trucks.etc etc.maybe at first, there will be.but not after a time period.then chances are.no shight of anyone along the tracks after that.maybe a scattered few if anyone at all..

Jim,

Never thought of it, good point. My brother in law worked for Burlington Northern's and then BNSF, northern route from Whitefish, Montana to Minot. I will have to ask him about those trucks. I don't think his big rig (which had the bucket used for electrical lines and derailments had them), but I am sure his old yard boss would know in Havre. I'll give him a call some time.

Oh, on the other post....because you have tons of farm area...you can get the lower the ground version, which costs less to make. The frame is only about 4 1/2 feet off the ground. Also make it easier to clean the solar panels, when they get dusty. I have to use a high pressure hose to spray mine because of height. If you build yours, it should be much cheaper than mine. Also, you might also be able to tag it as farm subsidy and business tax right off because of your farm. Mine was strictly residential, so we could only file for the solar tax refund.

when you contact your brother,or who ever..might want to ask about the railroad work trucks..the ones im thinking of look some thing like pick ups and the big flat bed work trucks you see traveling the highways n all.but has the railroad set-ups for traveling the rails..

Yes, that was what I was thinking about, they are the rail inspector rigs, you see them all the time on the rail from Wichita Falls to Ft Worth (Corporate HQ for BNSF). It is a great idea, sure it costs pretty big $$ to convert one. Possibly they sell them off when they hit a certain mile, but I'll ask.

Welcome aboard Dave, if you get a chance, please head to the new member thread and if you don't mind sharing a bit of yourself.

The folks here are not to bad, of course, we understand if you'd like to keep it personal and in that case you can share a conversation with a member, without showing it all on the thread, by clicking your box and selecting conversation.

I'd be interested in hearing more about you and your purpose, what draws you to prepping, and what are your insights. Hope to hear from you soon.

Best regards,
