My Wife wanted me to put these on her kindle and nook though too problematic and as you have stated "useless when there's no power after a extended.. " though my library wasn't necessarily for my benefit as it was for our kids and grand kids and their friends focusing more on foraging and bushcraft, most of my bushcraft books are dated though it's what I grown up with never the less still valuable in the modern world, foraging books is a must for preppers/survivalist with the focus being more on our own geographics.

holy moly,that's something really great,have a long way to go before I can put up a list like that.

Hard copy books may become more valuable than money one day. I like all the outdoor survival stuff you've collected. I've got a pretty good medical library, but need to gather more of everything else. I'm going to have to find a good used book store.

I don't like electronics for all the obvious reasons thus I prefer hard copies. I'm still collecting medical books but the majority are mountaineering and wilderness medical books. I've been keeping a running list on paperback book swap http://www.paperbackswap.com/home.php or I'll purchase from Amazon used books, the last two books I got from Amazon used books I paid $4 and that included shipping (medicine for mountaineering 3rd edition) so I figured not a bad buy.

Thanks for the link! Even if I find a bookstore, I live in such a small town that odds of finding good used material is slim.

i keep forgetting a used book store in one town that i've gone to..i've bought paper back books there for my mom and my self there before..they have a good selection of mystery novels and western books.and as for the other types.it seems like there's a pretty good selection there as well,for a small used book store.

Added two books;

+how to treat life-threatening conditions Preppers Get!: The Prepper Pages Survival Medicine Guide to Dealing with the Most Common Infections & Illnesses Plaguing Preppers (Volume 2)
+unit field sanitation team FM 4-25.12 (FM 21-10-1) U.S. Army

With sanitation being extremely important in a post-shtf, here is the PDF version of the manual I picked up today, this manual is a must have for the preppers library. If you can't get the hard copy at least download this manual! http://armypubs.army.mil/doctrine/DR_pubs/dr_a/pdf/atp4_25x12.pdf

I love the idea of having an actual book survival library.
Unfortunately, don't love the cost. I do have some such books, but not nearly what you're amassing, LOL.

I am however, in the process of building up a good pdf library, mostly from this site. Doesn't take a lot of power to power a reader, so seems to be a practical way to store and access the data (as long as you have redundant devices to pull it up on).

Most of my reference stuff is in digits. I have a few shelves of hard copy prep books and a ton of books on other topics.
I pick up most of my prep books used from the local used book sale held twice a year by the local library

The Wife has been after me to purchase most of my books in digital format but I'm not much into these digital anything, besides my books will outlast her readers and not willing to spend $$ on digital formats of books I already own :) I wanted a healthy prep library that covers many topics that outlast me.

I didn't pay for most of my digital stuff.
I've been collecting it for a few years now and passing it around to others and we share our respective libraries of information....
