There are a few neat ones on there :D (sniper training, night training and counter gorilla training to name a few)

Good site, Tyler. I have quite a few more, but my friend in DOD publication hasn't confirmed whether I could post all my FM's (some are restricted pubs, so I may never attach them), training modules, mil doctrines, etc.. The few that I posted in "How to" either are outdated, superseded or are considered for general public use. After I get clarification and it is legal, I was going to ask Clyde if he would start a tactics forum or tell me where he wanted me to place them. You are right on a few of the FM's, they are good introductions to operational tactics. Thanks for posting.

This is the second time I found a site like this one with multiple books on it. My first book on survival was a trade with my younger brother. Funny looking back on it now. I traded him a calvin and hobbies book for my father's old SAS guide. Still my go to book despite being the oldest book on survival I own. As for a tactics section I would love to have one. I think there was one topic a while back where we discussed some tactics but I think it would be nice to have one section on just tactics.

I think you got the better of the trade Tyler. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy my Calvin and Hobbes, but if its the SAS Survival Handbook by Lofty Wiseman, I think you came out on the better deal. I had my copy buried deep in my ruck...I use to get teased by my teammates on why I would carry it on Ops. I told them, well that book of all was worth its gold. I attended both the Air Force Survival school at Fairchild and the Marine Corp's Jungle Warfare Training Center on Okinawa, pretty much, everything I learned from the SAS handbook was again reinforced at these schools. Since the AF Survival trainers don't much care for our types at their school and the Marines, well they don't care for an Air Force guy showing up, they made it a bit more interesting for people like me.

As for the book, each of my kids have one packed in their BOB. As I taught my kids, the worse you can do is use it as a fire source, if things get really desperate. So I'd make sure you hold on to that one. Since I read your moving back to the "Great White North"...it might also come in handy if you ever get stranded on one of those Canadian hi-ways.

As for the tactics section. I am sure eventually, I'll hear from my friend and then propose it to Clyde. If it doesn't happen, well then I'll ask Clyde where he would like to see them posted. His website, so want to make sure I get his permission first.

Great chatting with you.

It was a good trade for me. I did a simulated plane crash 2 years ago as a part of my time in the scouts (first group to do something like it Canada and we are out of Canada :p) and it came in handy almost instantly. It currently is resting in my BOB. I only have the one copy so i'll be looking for another copy. Going to be making a few one month kits for my family within my first month back. It is a great book. Funny story, the other day my father had resived some expired medical supplies from work (better to have expired stuff than no stuff and it all looked good when I inspected it) while going through it my father remembered about his medical kit from the military. What had happened was he did some work off hours for a medic. A couple of days later he was given a trauma kit that close to expiring that was going to be used for training so it was no problem that it was given away. My father pulled it out and I inspected it and found a pocket with about 30 pages of winter survival information on how to build shelters and specific winter situational things. It was a unique find as it had hand written info as well on how to do things more efficiently.
