I still find the Boy Scout books and the merit badge pamphlets to be very helpful in learning new stuff about prepping and survival or just to gain all around knowledge. Its been many years since I've been a Boy Scout but you can still learn tons of stuff from their books, even if you aren't a Boy Scout. So its worth looking into. At Cabela's they even sell the original Boy Scout handbook from 1911 in their book section. Also, Boy Scout stores sell lots of good gear too.

Ragnar Benson has some informative books on wilderness and other types of survival . Check out Paladin Press or E Bay
