Neat, but top speed of only 20 miles per hour, and a range of only 18 miles on a charge, severely limit the application here. Still, the ability to charge off the sun though. Just takes half the day to charge is all....

It would be really useful post SHTF, but unfortunately, really ONLY post SHTF going that slow.

I know, because our ranchhand gal has a similar bike that is plug charged, but she simply never finds a use for it because she'd be run over on it, the second she went out on our country road (where folks go about 50mph).

I think that would be just the thing for a grammy like me! :) It doesn't look very dangerous at the speed it does and can get me from point A to point B. . . that's all I ask

Forgive ignorance but whats a V Star not seen one, is it a custom hog Harley clone type bike ?
Yeah, it's a cruiser (Harley looking) but it's a Yamaha, and is way more dependable than a Harley. It's also a lot more comfortable. I live in the mountains and it's a great place to have a bike. You just have to watch out for idiots pulling out in front of you. Other than that it's a great toy.

I kind of like 1100cc's, it's a lot more fun :).

Yup rather useless now cept for getting around retirement complexes, but for near silent energy free recon duty around your neighbourhood or ranch AFTER TSHTF or cruising the beach / desert for salvage it would be ideal.

This bike would probably work out well for many people. With only an 18 mile range it wouldn't even make 1 way to the store for me. I'd end up peddling for several miles, then find a place to charge it for several hours.

if bugging out no, but along my homestead yes amd I am not planning on bugging out

Some folks on both sides of the pond are talking about erm......... "Obtaining" those Solar powered Golf Cart vehicles for after TSHTF for local pottering and perimeter patrolling. They have solar panels mounted on the roof that do the charging / recharging, others are talking about grabbing the ordinary versions and recharging them from static pv cells and micro wind turbines

Either way a SILENT four person cart / buggy that can driver around for a good few hours with a turn of speed at least double walking speed that you can carry tools, weapons, etc on and recharges itself when its stopped or even whilst going along is something worth having.

I think it would be prudent for us to make a note of where our local golf courses are located.
