I own the paper crane katana and matching wakizashi plus a beautiful tanto from another series.

I bought the set because it looks awesome on my wall. But it is the real deal so if push comes to shove. Not that I profess to have any skill, I'll be lucky not to chop my own foot or ear off but since I live in a non fire-arm country I figure it would beat a broomstick. If I would have to pick one to use indoors I'd go for the wakizashi. Less chance of getting tangled up in something.
I religiously keep them maintained (oil off, powder on, powder off, oil back on) every 6 months or so.

Ronin asking for advice on swords? Isn't this pretty much like the Pope asking questions about the Bible?

Lmao! I know. I'm going to get it. I'm just wondering peoples opinions in general.

The Bowie shown on the preveous page . Advertised as a strong well made with great stabbing ability . Close ups show more detail looks like a great heavy use knife , Im not crazy about the sheath .

Oh the bowie machete. The sheath sux but, that's how he keeps them cheap to make. I'd make one out of kydex for it. If you have the know how it's a very easy set up. Making the sheath out of kydex should only cost you about 20.00.

Got it in , tuff well made I recomend it for anyone wanting a larger Bowie withouy paying hundredes or risking buying a pice of junk . I have a combat web set I wanted a large work / fighting Knife on . Belt suspenpers set with holster , ammo pouches , canteens butt pack , sleeping bag , compass , first aid kit , flashlight , bowie knife . Sort of gra n go war belt . I actualy have several of these sets some molle some alice but they are set op for defferent purpose's .

So just wondering I found a Bowie machete on the internet that had a new handle made from hard wood and a handguard added i got a friend that is learning to do knife making and he thinks he can set one up like that cheaper than faster than making a knife from the start I was wondering besides not having the weight of a Bowie knife would there be a big difference between the two also without the weight could the machete do a backcut because I would think that would be the biggest difference

Weight isn't necessary for a proper back cut, it's helpful but, not necessary.

I have a few actual combat swords, but most of the others are all decorative.
I do want to get a nice combat Katana though...so light and nice to use vs. my combat swords.
