This Ebola outbreak is becoming too big to keep posting new threads. Any new news on Ebola I'll post here, or if you have any other articles or news you want to share can post it here also.

Air France Suspends flights to West Africa.
It looks as if it is headed towards Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Article from The Independent UK:

It continues not to look good.

picked up from my local newspaper; suspected ebola patient in Sweden....that's way too close for my comfort if it's true...it's 45min with flight from there to here, and just last week the authorities said here; the chance it will spread up here is astronmivally small....

Suspected. Wait for the confirmation. If it's only one case they can treat that without it spreading.

Also: Post a hyperlink of the article, even if it's not in English. There is always Google Translate. I do it all the time.

I'll do..seems I don't need to worry for now...

still trying to figure out that hyperlink thing...look I have thumbs in the middle of my palms ;) , but it was on the swedish Aftonpost and finish Iltalehti..nothing this time...

then I heard something very troubeling; my country invites every year exchange students from africa, roughly 200 to study for one year at our university...despite the fact that they knew ebola was loose there, they still invited them here...some from countries ravaged with ebola..

This is getting scarier by the second. However, to keep fears at bay in the United States they haven't been posting much about it. Does anyone know if they have started trials on humans for the vaccine

just seen on the news, I think it was Liberia, guy infected with ebola escaped from the medical facility and was roaming the local market, mob was forming around him and could have got ugly but eventually health workers turned up in all over yellow hazard suits and took him away.

The USA has exchange students from Africa and Colleges here in the US have begun to screen students who have been to Africa recently. The schools are aware of it.

They are not doing trails of the vaccine they are using it on people already. It has been decided that it is ethical due to the dire need for something. They will of course improve on it as time goes on. But they have been given the green light by the FDA for use, and other countries have done the same.

that's the scary part,when it gets quiet...usually before a storm..no birdsong,no sound from critters..just quiet..

I think if this thing does get into the UK it'll pretty much be "game over", I mean its got a kill rate of 80-90% and given the numbers living in the big cities here it will decimate the population. only safe thing to do is hunker down and wait until its all over.

Great, I come back from Atlanta (where they had the two docs that were infected with Ebola), and I have a lot of the early symptoms (which of course, are the same as, and way more likely to simply be a cold). I do feel better than yesterday though, so I pretty sure it's just the latter. If not cleared up soon though, just may ask for a test.

I thought another American doc got Ebola ?
the doc that recovered in atlanta said a friend/fellow doctor just came down with it. I also saw that ten percent of the people that have died from it were health care workers. Really scary stuff.

I'm sure you just got a regular bug, for now. I am sure it wont be long though when we start seeing cases in this country though. just remember, wash hands often, dont touch your eyes, nose or mouth! (no matter how bad thaat itch is!)

what scares me most is the lack of response from my government..their just arguing in my parliment can someone quit his job or not...really important stuff ;)
