The one's I own and used for years is from H&B Forged non better! I personally don't like all these modern fancy tomahawks.

all those look great..but there's one thing i don't want in what i buy..and that'd be the wooden handles....

yeah..i've thought of that as well..but a person might not always have time to do so..and im one that'd rather not have to take the time makeing a new handle when i could be doing something else..

Watching what moves fast on Ebay the short pilot survival knives have a high demand the original and reproductions . The ones that come with a brown to tan leather sheath and sharpening stone . The Scharade M7 goes as fast as they are listed . The 70's/80's made in Japan go for surprisingly high prices when they were new we thought they were 2nd rate and your knife had to have made in the USA , England or Germany . They are better quality 30 years latter than alot of the new stuff now but I never thought they would increase in value . The old 80's era hollow handel survival knives sale now for about what they retailed for back then . Most of these are not what I look for in a knife just a observation on what folks are buying . I have so many now I have to hide them from my wife when I bring a new one home .

the 1st one when i 1st got it..2nd is after i put paracord on it..it's only 8.5 inches in length.but it's do for the price i got it for.

would you consider the swedish fire knife a good bob/inch bag knife?

sandvik been around a long time and have put out nice knifes, I know very little about this knife, I'm not a fan of SS blades though, I think from what I heard this knife is not full tang? I have an old sandvik skinning knife and used it for years, good knife!

Do I buy a large bladed knife ? and keep it tucked away in the bottom of my go bag, or do I buy a folding knife ? please advise.

Yes. (both). Each has their uses. Needing a permit to have a knife? Yikes....

Simply put, the folding knife is for tasks that would simply be too clunky to do with a large fixed-blade knife. For any kind of combat purpose though, you want the fixed blade. Though if you are down to a knife in combat, your best option is fleeing if you have the chance. Live to fight another day.

Found a like new M7 S on Ebay and bid on it . Got it cheap due to his bad picture and discription . I didn't need it but could'nt pass it up . I put it on a Old U.S woodland camo load bearing fighting molle vest that I use somtimes .

Not a name brand but if someone wanting a good sheath knife on the cheaper end check out WARTECH knifes their folders looked like cheap novelty knifes but the sheath knives seem tough fulltang ok for cheaper knives . These are not Cold Steel or Beckers and don't compare but someone wanting a usable knife on the cheaper side may want to check these out . I have a old school European pistol belt I wanted a knife to match and bought one of thier German WW2 style daggers .

As I said they are economy knives . But would do anything any average knife would do . Good for someone that needed a basic knife cheap .

There's economy and then there's junk. Wartech is junk. For the same price there are much better knifes. If you can't afford 25.00 on a knife then wait and save. Cold steel has many excellent knives at that price made from much better materials. I understand the attraction of an 8.00 knife but, a butter knife in your kitchen is a safer bet. The standards the company Wartech set forward for their product are laughable at best and criminal at worst. Please understand Psalms I'm not trying to attack you, the problem is text doesn't convey tone and my tone for this is one of concern. The purchase of a knife should be taken as serious as your rifle or hand gun.

Cold steel listed price on amazon.com

GI Tanto shipped for 20.00 - 1055 carbon steel
Kobun Tanto shipped for 26.50 - AUS 8A stainless Japanese steel
Roach belly shipped for 16.50 - Krupp 4116 Stainless steel
Pendleton hunter lite shipped for 16.84 - Krupp 4116 Stainless steel

No problem with your tone . If I see something that may intrest some one I tell them and let them make a decision . I fully agree with you about quality knives . I always prefered KA BAR but you convinced me to try Cold Steel long ago .
