Hey squad,
I wanted to share with you a new cellular service that came out about a year ago. It is called FirstNet and it is owned by AT&T. This applies only to you if you are a first responder (police, fire, EMS, FEMA). FirstNet is reserved for first responders only and not their family; in other words, only one cell phone per first responder.

What is great about FirstNet is that it is a commercial grade cellular network that runs separately from the civilian cellular grid. This means that the network will not get jammed like it did on 9/11 with everyone in a panic. The network is designed not to go down in a natural disaster or terrorist attack. It also connects with standard AT&T towers.

If you are first responder, I would recommend checking it out. It is also significantly cheaper by $20-30 from other cellular networks and I have had it for about six months now.

We have it in Washington but not all counties applied for it because of the expense for smaller counties.
That is interesting. I did not know that. I was not aware that it was part of State/county dollars. I am pretty sure that it is state wide here in New Jersey. I know that individual departments can delegate different perks to the network.
